"We're surrounded! We need backup!" Said Shiro, who was trying to hold off the Galra with Hunk. "Hurry!"
"I'm on it." Keith called, who was already nearly out of the ship.
"Me too." Lance said.
"No, stay and make sure Pidge downloads the data safely." Keith replied.
"Come on, Keith we need you!" Hunk cried, just barely dodging a blow.
"There's a shortcut up ahead. The second last door to your right should be the room with the quintessence. If you continued there should be a joint room that's right in front of the exit." Commented Pidge.
Keith counted down the doors. 6, 5, 4, 3... 2
Keith slammed through the doors. Shelves running along the walls were stacked with containers filled with liquid of all different colours. Keith was nearly at the other door when- SLAM
The ship twisted and turned and Keith could hardly keep his balance. "What's going on?" Lance screamed.
"My bad." Hunk answered.
Again the ship rocked. Containers fell off the shelves and smashed onto the ground. The smell was revolting. 'What's in these things?' Keith thought, staggering towards the exit.
SLAM! CRASH! SMASH!
An acidic pain spread through Keith's skin. Keith's helmet was lying on the floor, the glass front shattered. Keith slowly picked himself, scooped up his helmet, and continued on. "Hey Red. Lets join Shiro and Hunk." Keith said, climbing into his lion.
After around 20 minutes of fending off Galra fighters and cruisers, Green and Blue reunited with the others. 'Finally,' thought Keith, who was in pain in every inch of his body.
"Full retreat!" Shiro ordered. The 5 paladins followed the Black Lion's lead away from the Galra. "You alright, Keith?"
Keith was falling behind the others, putting quite a distance between him and the Lions. "Im'm okay. I'll catch up." Keith said as best he could to make it sound like the pain he was suffering was non-existent. Shiro wasn't convinced.
"Lance, stick with Keith." Shiro commanded.
"I don't need help." Keith complained. Lance smirked, this was gonna be interesting.
"Precautions, Keith. You two catch up to us at the Castle of Lions." Shiro said firmly, putting Keith in his place.
Green, Black and Yellow sped off ahead to Coran and Allura, leaving Red and Blue behind. "Keith, you good buddy?" Lance asked, slightly worried. It wasn't like Keith to be the one at the back.
"I'm fine La- AAH!"
"KEITH!" Lance shouted. "What happened?" No response. "I'm going over to Red." Lance unbuckled his seat belt and headed out of the cockpit. The Lion's jaw started opening, revealing a bright white light heading towards them.
"Hold on Keith!" Lance screamed as he clung to one of Blue's teeth, bracing for impact.
