Sierra
INCOMING CALL: ARI
"Hello?"
"Hi Sierra"
"What's up?"
"Errr...nothing. Never mind"
I rolled my eyes "Ari what is it?"
"Nah, its fine. Its stupid. Forget I called"
"Ari, don't you dare hang up on me or I will march to your flat" I raised my voice and threatened him.
"Geez girl! Okay! I mean you've done it once, you don't need to do it again and again!" he shouted in a panicked voice until he changed his tune "unless of course you can't get enough of me"
"Okay, now I am hanging up" I deadpanned.
"Okay, sorry! I won't do it again" he quickly said.
I smirked "Good boy!" I said in a patronising tone "Okay, what is it?"
"My sister's birthday is coming up and I kinda need you to help me pick a gift" he mumbled.
"Thats it?" I asked in disbelief.
"Yeah" there was silence.
"You made it sound like you needed help with a girl or something" I snickered.
Dead silence.
"Hello?" I asked.
"I'm not really interested in any other girls right now and you should know that" he spoke with such a serious tone that the atmosphere grew heavy for a moment.
I was taken aback. Should I know that? Why should I know that? Why was he telling me that? Why didn't I know how to feel about that?
I shook my head to rid me of these thoughts "So about your sister's birthday, what age is she?" completely diverting and avoiding the topic that caused a rift between us last time.
I was just hoping this was like Subway Surfer or Flappy Bird, where as long as you avoided the obstacles you made it out alive.
"Well she is fifteen. And I have no idea what to get her which is why I phoned you"
"Yes I know idiot" I laughed "Just meet me at the mall tomorrow"
"What time?"
I hummed "I have class in the morning. 2pm. Will that work?"
"Yeah. That should be fine"
"Okay see you then"
"Okay"
"Bye eggplant"
"Bye my cowgirl"
I laughed and ended the call.

I tapped my foot inpatiently against the concrete ground and huffed.
Typical. He couldn't even turn up on time for a favour I was doing for him.
Insolent bastard.
I checked the time on my phone and my phone's lock screen lit up to show me it was 2.37pm.
Just as I was about to call him, a running figure caught my eye that was heading straight for me clad in black skinny jeans and a black hoodie.
He stopped right in front of me as his chest heaved, in an attempt to catch his breath.
"You are thirty nine minutes late" I squinted my eyes at him and crossed my arms over my chest.
"You" breath "look hot" breath "even when you're angry" he replied.
