Ari

It was the day we had slaved for. Dragged our feet to early morning classes to on auto-pilot because our eyes refused to fully open. Spent hours of cramming reading textbooks and memorising them while also furiously typing at our worn out laptop keys, the click-click of which I could still hear in my head.

I looked around campus, breathing in the fresh scent of grass as the wind swept over us all. A smile etched on my face as I saw the excitement in all of us scattered on this campus buzzing around us.

Every person with their black gown and black cap sitting above their heads.

"Hey!" I waved animatedly.

My mom and sister approached with their faces filled with beaming proud smiles. My mother wearing a simple formal white shirt and black slim fitting trousers while my sister was in a semi-casual summer dress.

"Let me look at you!" my mother appraised me with her honey eyes, the same colour as her hair with unshed tears in her eyes.

"I am so proud of you!" she whispered. I knew if she said it any louder, she would have started sobbing.

"Wow Ari, you look presentable for once!" my sister chimed in to lighten the mood and stop mom from crying as she appraised me from head to toe with a once over.

I stared into identical blue eyes to mine with the same honey hair as mom "This will be you in a couple years" I winked and ruffled her hair vigorously before she could stop me.

"ARI!" she shouted and scoffed as she began to rifle through her hair in an attempt to try and fix it

"Play nice, you two! Do not start here please! Honestly, you guys are why I have wrinkles!" my mother hissed in a whisper, with a mortified expression on her face.

"Please, Ma! You still pass as Lena's sister!" I shook my head at her and said with exasperation.

She moved a few tendrils from her face to behind her ear as she pointed her nose up a little "That's because I take care of myself despite your and Lena's best efforts to cause me stress" she smiled wryly.

It hadn't hit me how much I had missed them in the past three years right until this moment when we were back together with nothing having changed. I knew I was lucky to have a family that had my back, without a doubt.

Out of nowhere my heart started beating faster and I knew she was around. I craned my head and looked about for her.

I saw her, walking in her white, plain dress that hugged her figure and ended just at her knees. She looked so elegant with that dress on her. Her caramel hair being pushed back by the wind, revealing tiny little diamond studs in her ears. She was already stunning but I stood no chance with her approaching with this large gorgeous smile on her face while her eyes were defined by eyeliner. I swear, my heart stopped for a sec and I definitely just drooled over my girl in front of my mom and sister.

"Ari?" I heard that faintly somewhere around me, not even sure who it came from but it was too far away to reach. Fuck that, I didn't even want to reach it when she was walking towards me. She was looking around and smiling staring at everyone else.

Then it was as if she could feel my eyes on her, because the next thing I knew her eyes were on mine and that gorgeous smile of hers got even bigger. I was fucking gone and I had to be the luckiest bastard.

"Don't worry Marie, he gets like this only with her" a male baritone I was assuming was Franco, without ever taking my eyes off her.

"Oh okay, because I was worried he was about to pass out!" they all laughed but all that faded into the background as she got closer to me and looked right in my eyes.
