My body feels numb because of how cold it is inside here.
Res had given me tips, but what am I going to do?
She's right, running towards the Cornucopia will only get me killed. I'm fast, yeah, but I don't have much stamina, I wouldn't make it out there in time."Vivus Redis, tribute for district 13. Hurry up, your train is here!", a Peacekeeper informs me.
He wears the same white unifrom as the others, but a small tag on his chest indicates he has a high rank.
I stand up and follow him, shining lights and cameras all around me.
The girl, Lera. She walks beside me, looking at her feet and having red eyes. She had cried.
She's around thirteen, so still an innocent child.
I step into the train, white automatic doors shut close behind me, silence.
The walls are also white and full of windows, a clean and sterile look.
I get told where my room is and sit down on the bed. It's big, clean, extremly soft and has light blue sheets that match the sky.
My eyes wander around and scan the room.
A bathroom with a gigantic bathtub, my bed, a wandrobe and a clock at the wall. It's already 2pm.
Slowly I get up and change my clothes. It's pretty warm, so I choose a grey tank top and some sporty looking shorts, as well as shoes.Suddently the train starts moving, I run to the main area again and look outside the window, Res!
She had climbed on top of a small storage area besides the weird hall and waves, holding on arm in front of her face. I wave back, ignoring the others that press themselfs against the fence, most of them work for the Capitol anyways, want to film our reactions.
I finally stop when I can't even see the train station anymore.I'm in my room, in this weird train. Really, it's very quiet and you don't even feel like you're moving.
"17 hours till arrivel"
That's not even a day. What am I supposed to do now?
I need allies. But they can kill me. Sponsors, but for district 13?
Well, I have to atleast try.
I enter the shower and get greeted by a voice.
"Good day, sir. What can I do for you?"
I look around and try to cover my naked body. But the only person here am I.
"I- I would like to shower", I finally say, "please."
The voice continues to ask me about the water temperature and such, I try to be fast. I don't know why but it makes me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I wonder if the people in the Capitol have whole conversations with them?"Hi", I hear a unknown voice greet me as I enter the eating area at around 3pm.
The windows have white curtains next to them, fancy patterns with golden silk stiched onto them.
The tables and chairs look just as luxurious, dark smoth wood.
I sit down next to Lera and eye up the people that sit with us.
Well, only one of them sits. The other two, which are workers from the capitol, hand me a menu, then leave the room.
The person who sits with us is the only winner our district ever had, Vastus Mell.
He won the games when I was ten years old and just learned how to swim, I can't remember too much about him.
He's shirtless, trained and looks young.
"Hello", I say.
"He's out mentor", explains Lera."Yeah, I am!", he smiles as he takes another fruit salad. "The only winner from here!", he proudly adds.
"I know", I tell him.
I look at the menu, most things are completly new to me.
Finally, after I got some bread with cheese, Vastus starts to talk.
"You know, the put us in a forest. Seems easy, right?", he asks us and laughs.
His black hair that he has in a high ponytail goes well with his slightly tanned skin.
"That's what the others thought as well. But I was smarter, there had to be a trap! And there was. The wildlife."
"Like bears and foxes?", Lera asks surprised, "that's not too hard if you compare it to the other games!"Vastus laughts again, shaking his head this time.
"No. Not normal animals. Mutations. Bigger, faster, deadlier. Some bears could jump up to double my size! Wolfes were faster than an arrow! But I still managed to survive!", he bragged.
Lera seems very impressed, but I remember why he won.
"You led them to your allies."
He nods. "Smart, isn't it?"
"You also made fake allies just to betray them."
Again, he nods. This time smiling, obviously incredibly proud of himself.
Lera just stares at him. "You can't do that!", she is shocked.
"Of course I can. In the arena there are no friends or real allies. Only you count. And that's my advice for you!", he tells her, then looks at me.
"Let's talk later, I've got something to do", he says and stands up, leaving his stuff there for others to clean up.
"Useful", I mutter and stand up too, need to be alone.---------------
Hi, so this is kind of a shorter chapter, but that won't really happen again.
How do you feel about all this at the moment?
Do you already like a character?
Don't worry, the training part will start soon, it's already written and I'm just going over it again
