Chapter 1: Destiny Awaits

~Briar's POV~

I yawned and stretched out. Then I slowly sit up on my bed. I giggled as I saw my kitten, Diana, cuddling on me. I pet her and she began to purr. "You cute kitty" I told her and she purred again. 

So I got up as she jumped down from my lap. I walk towards my bathroom to get cleaned up. After I do that, I put on my clothes. Which is a princess lolita dress with frills and long sleeved. It is mostly dark purple with tints of black. 

Then I put on a light purplish pink socks with black pumps. "Briar dear come down stairs!" my mother said in her deep but beautiful voice. So I grab Diana and walked down stairs.

I looked around at my home...it had a mix of good and evil due to my father being the hero in his story while my mother being the villain. 

I loved both my parents. My father was the one I spent the most time with. We would often play games or watch movies on the Video Mirror together. I remember when I was sad he would kiss my forehead.

It tickled because he always had a hairy chin. "Briar you make my heart filled with sunshine and had always made my life interesting...show others that I know about you" he would always say.

My mother I got to spend time with when she wasn't so busy. She would read bedtime stories to me and teach me magic. She would brush my hair which she still does...

Everything changed though...when my father was murdered by those he trusted dearly. And so I became  cold and distant...I often didn't want to talk to people much after that.

 But today since I'm 15-years-old now...I finally get to go to FairyTale High, a school for people like me.

When I got to my mother's bedroom...the two guards with spiky armor were standing at the door. They bowed and let through. "Good morning princess" They said at the same time.

I smiled and said good morning to them as well. Diana jumped out of arms and hid under a stack of pillows in a corner. I giggled because she always was scared of mother since she was a kitten.

"Hello mother" I said happily. Mother was brushing her long dark brown hair with a silver streak looking in the mirror. She stopped brushing her hair and smiled when she saw me in the mirror.

 "Hello dear" Mother replied happily. She got up and hugged me. I returned the hug and she looked at me with her violet eyes at my honey-colored ones.

"I can't believe this day has finally come....you're going to the school I used to go when I was your age!" Mother said. I nodded and smiled.

"Now...I want to give you something" She told me. She patted my arms and walked back to her vanity. I cocked my head to the side and raised an eyebrow.

My eyes widened at what I saw. It was a necklace...a silver chain with a amethyst and it had diamonds around it. "Mother isn't that-" but I was cut off by mother who said "Yes the jewel of the moon".

 "My mother gave it to me, so did her mother, and now I'm giving it to my daughter" Mother told me. I felt my eyes sting as my mother puts the necklace around my neck. I turned around and hug my mother.

It shocked her but hugged me back. Then we headed outside where the servants were packing my bags. After they were done, my mother whispered something like an incantation.

Then a portal came as she moved her hand. It look liked glass and I went to touch it...it felt like goo.

 I said my goodbyes to the people who I cared about, grabbed my bags, and headed inside the glass like portal.

~Odette's POV~

I woke up from birds chirping their merry song. I smiled and got up. The birds and chimpmunks came in my room ready for me to say something.

 "If you don't mind...can you get my clothes for this morning...please?" I told them and they replied happily.

So while they tended to that...I got myself cleaned up. After I got cleaned up, I saw that my animal friends took care of tending to my room.

My clothes I was gonna wear was already out and my room was clean. I softly patted  the chimpmunks head and petted the birds wings. "Thank you all so much for helping me" I told them.

 The sweet animals left my room while I got dressed. I looked in the mirror to make sure everything was in order.

I was wearing an light blue sun dress with frills on the bottom, my ebony hair with rainbow highlights up in a ponytail, and white pumps.

I hear a knock on my door. "Come in" I sang. I turn around to see my little brother Timothy coming in. Well he is my half brother while my sister is my step-sister....after my father got remarried.

My mother died when I was around 8-years-old from an unknown illness. She was wonderful and a beautiful young lady. She was loved by her people and she cared about the trolls which were her family.

She would often take me to visit them and they greeted as part of their family. So I would try to visit when I could and I brought Timothy along since he loved to play with the little ones. 

So my father remarried thinking that I needed a mother figure....so that's how I ended up with a cute little brother but a mean older sister. 

My step-mother is just as mean but nice when my father is around...which is really annoying. "Hi Timothy!" I said happily.

"Hi sis!" Timothy replied. He took my hand and said "Daddy wants you at the dining hall, so he made get you".

I giggled and rolled my eyes. But I let my little brother take me to the dining hall...but no one was there.

"Tim are you sure you heard father right?" I asked then when I turn around...Tim was gone!

So I looked in every room and made it to the living room...it was awfully dark in there.

I go to the curtains and spread them apart. "Suprise!" a group of people yelled. That made me jump at least 3 feet in the air. 

I turn around and saw my family with cake and some delicious snacks! "Oh my goodness! You guys shouldn't have!" I sqeauled. My father hugged me "Anything for my little princess" he replied.

I could tell my step-mother and sister aren't enjoying this but I do. So after the celebration and long goodbyes...I headed outside.

My bags were being packed in the carriage which will be rode by Pegasus or some call flying horses. I get inside and when we fly off...I waved at my family till they far off from view.

"Are you excited princess?" the chauffeur asked. I nodded and replied "Yes Fairytale High is like a dream come true!".
