(2 weeks later) *Drew POV* It's been 2 weeks since I've been stuck here. Grant left and went home because he had work so when Jessie hasn't been with me she's been watching Char and if Char wasn't with me and Jessie was we either had Flip or Natalie watching her. It's really cute when she hangs with Flip because she calls him Uncle Flippy and she keeps demanding him to do flips. "Drew you have PT today" Jessie says "Who is Char with" I ask "She is with Flip today. He's gonna bring her by around noon" Jessie says "Ok" I say A nurse comes in and along with Jessie help me get into a wheel chair then wheel me down to the PT room. Jessie comes but waits out in the hall. I am wheeled over to Gavin who is my physical therapist. "Hey drew how are you today" Gavin asks "Same as the last time" I sigh "Come on. Have faith. You'll get it" He says "No I won't. You don't get it. I want to be able to run, jump, do flips. I want to be able to do ninja competitions again" I say "Drew. Look at me. You'll get it. You have to take it one step at a time. You've taken a few steps. You're next goal is to take a few more. By the end of the month I'll have you walking up and down the hallway" he says "I guess" I say "Come on. Have confidence in your self" he says He wheels me over to the bars and I push my self up. I grab onto the bars and steady myself before letting go. I take five steps and then all my weight shifts and I have to grab onto the bars. I steady myself and try again. I go another five steps. "How about we just do some exercises" Gavin says "No I'm gonna do more" I say "Drew no. If you do more you can hurt yourself" he says I sigh but nod. He helps me back into me wheel chair and we do simple exercises. After the half hour I finish and I wheel myself out. I go back to the room and a nurse comes in and helps me to shower. I change into clothes and get in the bed with some help. I then grab my phone. I look at the time and it's 11:30 And a text from Flip. F-Hey man I have to go in for work around noon so I'll be there around 11:30 for Char to see you. If you don't want Char to stay around I can take her with. She keeps talking about how she wants to see me on set. I put my phone down just as there is a knock and Char comes running in. "Daddy" Char yells "Char baby inside voices" I say "Sorry daddy but I missed you" she says quieter "It's ok. I missed you too. How has your day been" I ask "Good. uncle Flippy made me pancakes for breakfast. Then he took me to a ninja gym. Aunt Natalie was there. He had me fooling around. uncle Kevin was also there. But I didn't really hang with him because he was working. But it was still fun" she says "That's good. Hey why don't you go with Aunt Jessie and get some chocolate milk and a sandwich from the cafeteria" I say "Ok" she says She and Jessie walk out and Flip sits in the chair. "How are you man" he asks "Good" I say "Truth" He says "I feel useless. I've never felt like this before. Well I have but that was when I first was diagnosed with ADHD and I was learning how to control it. But that's not the point. I will never be back to normal. I came here to own and run a ninja gym. I can't do that if I can't do the obstacles. I can't do that if I can only walk." I say "Drew look at me. You are one of the most dedicated and strongest people I know. You will be able to walk again. You will be able to run and jump again. However, it will take time. Remember, shoot for the moon because even if you miss you'll land among the stars" he says "Thanks Flippy" I smirk "You're lucky you can't defend yourself" he says "Yeah yeah yeah" I say "Daddy" Char says coming in "What baby girl" I ask "When will you come home" she asks "Very soon" I say "But when? I miss you and you said you'd take me to a ninja gym" she says "Char I said I will be out soon. Stopping whining" I say sternly "Ok" she mumbles "Hey baby girl come here" I say She walks over and I pick her up and set her on the bed next to me. "I love you" I say "I love you too daddy" she says "Now would you like to stay here with me or go to work with Uncle Flippy" I ask "Uncle Flippy" She says "Ok. Now be safe" I say "Yes daddy" she says "Good and Flip bring her back in one piece" she says "Don't I always" he asks "Sure" I say I kiss Charlottes forehead and then she leaves with Flip. Jessie sits on the edge of the bed and I sit up as well. I swing my feet over the edge of the bed and sit next to her. "You okay" she asks "Yeah. I mean I was sort of upset about Char's statement but I'm just mad at myself for yelling at her. She has already been through a lot and me yelling at her isn't making anything better." I say "Hey it's alright. You've also been through a lot. You need to work on and focus on walking again" she says "I know. Thank you for being here for me" I say "You're welcome" she says "I wanna try walking again" I whisper "Drew you shouldn't be doing that" she says "Jessie I need to try. If I can get out of here and walk with a cane until I get stronger than I want to go home." I say "Alright. But hold onto me as the balance" she says "Ok" I say We get up and I hold onto her arm as balance. I take some steps and feel fine. We get to the door and Jessie looks at me. I nod my head. She opens the door and we walk out. We go outside and to the courtyard and find a bench to sit on. "I'm proud of you" Jessie says "I'm tired now" I say "I know" Jessie says "Drew, you could've just asked to walk with assistance" we hear I turn my head to the side and see Gavin. "Oh hey Gavin" I say "Drew if you can walk with assistance you can go home. I mean you'll still have to come back three times a week for PT but you don't have to stay here anymore. You were here so your ribs could heal and so you could get your balance and walking back." Gavin says "Ok. Thank you" I say "Let me go and talk to the doctor and get you a cane. Then you will be free to go. How about you guys head back to the room" He says Jessie thanks him and we work our way back in. We get to the room and sit on the edge of the bed. Jessie gets up and starts packing up our things. Gavin soon comes in with a cane and papers. I sign the papers and give them back. "You guys are good to go. See you in two days Drew." Gavin says We thank him and then leave we get outside and go sit on a bench. "Did you ask someone to come get us" I ask "Yeah. They're on their way" she says "Ok" I say A couple minutes later a vehicle shows up and I recognize it as Kevin's. "Hey Drew. Glad to see you back on your feet" Kevin says "It good to be in my feet again" I say "Well let's get you two home and then we can let everyone who doesn't already know that you're alright" he says "Who all knows and how did they know so fast" Jessie asks "Jessie word travels fast through the ninja population. Everyone is always hanging out together" I say "True. So who doesn't know yet" Jessie asks "Fans and I don't think Matt, Kristine, and Akbar know" Kevin says "Does Char know" I ask "No. Flip and I decided to keep it a secret from her" Kevin says "Ok" I say "Oh yeah and she's sleeping over at my place so you have a day to get settled in." Kevin says "Thank you Kevin for doing all this stuff. You, Natalie, Grant, and Flip have all been a big help to me and Jessie with you guys watching Charlotte since I couldn't" I say sadness sleeping through towards the end "Hey we're happy to help a fellow ninja. One who has always helped us when we were in need" he says We get in the car and Kevin drives us to Jessie's house. After two hours we arrive. We go inside and there is an extra couch in Jessie's spare living room off to the side that is fitted to be a bed. I look at Jessie. "Doctor said no stairs. I got the guys to help me make this Drew ready" she says "Thank you" I say I bro hug Kevin and kiss Jessie's Cheek. "Alright well I'm gonna head out. Make sure you let the fans know and the hosts. Also just tell them you two are dating. The whole world already suspects it" Kevin says "Leave before you're a bull in a china shop" I say "Yes sir" he says He leaves and Jessie and I go over to her main living room. We sit down and Sammo comes over to Jessie and lays by her feet. "I missed you too baby" she says petting in "Should we post on instagram or Twitter" I ask "Um insta" She says "Ok" I say "Just post our one from Sauske. Everyone will think it's a normal lost them they read it and see that it's us together." She says "Smart" I say

As most of you know I was in a plane crash with my adopted daughter Charlotte. She is alright and was not injured at all but I did suffer some severe injuries and you were all worried for me. That I thank you. Sadly I will not continue to compete this season but hopefully I will gain some wings and be able to soar to victory next year win from your support and help from other ninjas.
Jessie shows me what she wrote and I give her permission to post it. I then get a call moments later. I look at caller ID but it's unknown. I answer anyways. D-hello N-hello is this Drew Drechsel D-yes. Who is this N-I'm Nina from the Los Angeles news station. I was wondering if we could interview you on the plane crash D-I'm sorry but no N-why not this would make a great story D-in still trying to recover from the incident N-you are Home now aren't you Jessie looks at me and holds her hand out. I give her the phone. J-this is Drew's coworker. He cannot talk to you and will never be talking to you about what happened. It is a very sensitive situation and he needs to make a full recovery before he even talks about it. She hangs up and gives the phone back to me. "Thank you" I say "You're welcome" she says She grabs the remote and turns on the tv. The news is on and it is talking about the crash. Jessie turns the tv off. "I'm weak" I mumble "What" she says "Nothing" I say "No. What did you say" she asks "I'm weak. I can't do anything. I can barely walk. I can't do anything with my daughter and I can't even talk about the crash. I can't do anything." I say "Drew how many times do we have to tell you? You are the strongest and bravest ninja out there. You are not weak at all. And there are still some things you can do with Char. You just have to have faith in yourself. And the crash I wouldn't want to talk about it either. It's okay that you don't want to talk about it" she says "You don't get it. You don't get it at all" I yell I get up from the couch and make my way to the spare room. I close the door and lock it then sit on the couch. "Drew come out" Jessie says "I'm going to sleep" I say "It's only 3" she says "I'm tired" I say "Please drew I'm sorry" she says "I just need to be alone" I say "Drew" she says I can hear the sadness in her voice. I put my earbuds in and and close my eyes laying down on the couch.
