Chapter 3

*Drew POV*
I wake up the next morning to someone poking my cheek. I open one eye and see Charlotte. I smile and close both eyes. I hear a small giggle as she continues to poke my cheek.
"Hey crazy monkey" I hear joe say
"Uncle Joe! Where were you" she asks
"Down getting food. What are you doing" he asks
"Trying to wake daddy" she says
"Drew when did you adopt her" he asks
"Yesterday. Or the first day" I mumble
"Hey it's 8:30. Everyone else is down eating breakfast. You and Char might want to go down and eat." He says
I nod and climb out of bed I grab some clothes from my suitcase and go to the bathroom to change. Once I'm done I go to Charlottes small suitcase and see she only has one other outfit and it's old and dirty. She'll just wear what she's wearing and I'll go shopping tonight for some clothes and other essentials for her.
"Alright baby girl you ready to go eat" I ask
"Yes" she says
She leaps into my arms and I catch her. I grab my phone and the hotel room key and walk out. We go to the elevator and get in. Once we get to the lobby we can already hear a lot of noise. We go into breakfast and I set Char down but she holds onto my leg.
"What's wrong" I ask
"There's a lot of noise and people" she says
"It's alright. Do you want me to carry you instead" I ask
She nods her head so I pick her up and place her on my hip. I look around but then spot Allyssa and James in a back corner away from everyone. I go over there and sit down.
"Hey Drew. Hey char" Allyssa says
"Hey. Sorry if we're intruding but Char doesn't like the loud noises and all the people" I say
"It's all good. The ninja can get pretty rowdy. Especially after a good night" James says
"Half of these ninjas didn't even get a room here" I say
"Ssh the front desk doesn't know that" Allyssa says
"Ok. Charlotte what do you want to eat" I ask
"Yogurt. And doughnut" she says
"What type of yogurt" I ask
"Raspberry" she says pronouncing the p in the middle
I laugh and walk away to go get the food. I get what she wants and get some food for me then go back to the table. I set the plates down and sit down. Charlotte stands up on her chairs and climbs over to my lap.
"Hey get your own chair" I say tickling her
"No daddy. I want to sit with you" she giggles
"Awe Drew you adopted her. That's so sweet"Allyssa says
"Yeah. You'll be a great dad to her. Especially since you're her favorite" James says
I look over at Charlotte and she has yogurt all over her face. Also powder sugar all over her face and hands. I grab a napkin and clean her up.
"I want juice" she says
"Magic word" James asks
"Please" she says
"What type" he asks
"Hmm. Apple" she says
He nods and gets up.
"So Charlotte you happy you get to live with Drew" Allyssa asks
"Yes. He's the most bestest." Char says
"Here you go sweetheart" James says
"Thank you uncle James" she says
"Drew my man. Wasn't last night epic" Matt asks coming over
"Yeah. It was definitely something" I say
"who's this cutie pie" Matt asks
"This is Charlotte. I adopted her the other day." I say
"She's so adorable. How old is she" he asks
"I'm three" Charlotte says
"Wow" Matt says
"Daddy I'm still hungry" she says
"Hey how about we get you some food and we go up to our room and all three of us can watch some tv while your dad talks" Allyssa says
"Ok auntie Allyssa" Char says
James picks her up and they walk off. Matt and I talk as I finish eating.
"So who all is she calling aunt and uncle" Matt asks
"Don't know. She's the one calling them that. I haven't told her anything." I say
"I think it's adorable" he says
"Yeah she is pretty adorable." I say
"Drew" Grant yells
"Grant you don't have to yell" Natalie says
"Yes" grant says
"What up Grant and Natalie" I say
"Hey Drew" they say
"Are you two together yet" I ask
They both look at each other and quickly shake their heads.
"Liars" I say
(They aren't actually dating. It's just for the book).
"Maybe. But you can't tell anyone else" Natalie says
"Wait but what about my money" I ask
"What" Grant asks
"When did you ask her" I ask
"She asked me and last night" Grant says
"Yes." I say
"Hold on. What money" Natalie asks 
"Oh just me and a couple of other ninjas made a bet to see when you two would get together. Then whoever got who would ask right would get double the money. I win. I said Cleveland. Natalie would do it and let me guess you did it from the top of the elevator climb once the whole night was over" I guess
"Yeah" Natalie says
"How much did you guys bet and who all was it" Grant asks
"It was me, James, Jamie, Neil, Jessie Graf and labreck, and also Chris DiGangi. The price was $20" I say
"Really all of you knew we liked each other" grant asks
"Most of the ninjas know. There's a slim fee who don't. The others just didn't want to bet. I only did cause I had a feeling that I would win. And actually the person who also got it right is Geoff Britten. He sent me a text asking if you two were together. I said no and he was guessing when it would happen. This was after we made the bet." I say
"Geoff. I miss Popeye. Is he coming back next season" Natalie asks
"Not sure" I say
"Alright Drew Natalie and I will tell the ninjas. And make sure you get your money. Do you get $40 from each" Grant asks
"Yep" I say
"Alright" Natalie says
She and Grant stand on chairs and Natalie whistles.
"Ninjas Natalie and I have an announcement" Grant says
"Gratalie" Maggie yells
"Wooh" the rest cheer
"Dang nabbit" we hear from some
"Alright everyone pay up. $40 dollars" I say
James is the first who comes up and shoves to money at me. The others are soon to follow.
"I hate you so much right now" Chris says
"Yeah right" I say
"Daddy rich now" Charlotte yells running to me
She jumps in my arms and I catch her.
"Awe" the ninjas say
"Daddy can we go do something" she asks
"Sure. Want to go for a walk" I ask
She nods. I set her down and hold her hand. I make sure I have my phone and wallet in my pocket then we head out.
"Shall we go to the store and get you some clothes" I ask
"Yes" she says
I find a mall and we go in.
"What do you want" I ask
"I don't know. I've never done before" she says
"Looks like we gotta call back up" I say
I pull my phone out and text something then put it away. I pick Charlotte up and walk to the food court. We sit down and wait. A few minutes later and back up has arrived.
"Maggie Jessie" Charlotte cheers
She gets up and runs over to them.
"Ready to shop" Maggie asks
"Yeah" Char says
"Thank you for helping" I say
"No problem. If you're gonna be a male figure to my kids then I want to be a female figure to your daughter. Plus my son really loves it when you help him out with ninja obstacles." Maggie says
"Well it's my pleasure" I say
"Char is just so adorable so I don't mind helping" Jessie says
Maggie picks Char up and then turns to me and sticks her hand out. I get my wallet out and give her my credit card.
"Don't go crazy. Only the essentials then a few extra things if you want" I say
They nod and walk off. I just walk around and sign autographs when people come up to me. I continue walking when my phone rings. I answer without looking at the ID.
D-yes
?-where's my daughter
D-excuse me
?-Charlotte where is she
D-I don't know what you are talking about sir
?-you stole my daughter
D-no I did not. I don't know who you are. Don't know how you got my number. Never call again
I hang up and block the number and put my phone back in my pocket. I look at my watch and see that it's just about lunchtime so I go back to the food court and find the three girls at a table. I go over to them and Charlotte runs to me. I pick her up and hold her on my waist.
"Did you have fun" I ask
"Yes" she says
"You hungry" I ask
"Mmhm" she says
"What do you want" I ask
"I don't know" she says
"How about some chicken" I ask
"Ok" she says
"You ladies want to join us" I ask
"I'd love to but I should go relieve what ever Ninja is watching my kids" Maggie says
"My mom is watching them. They're fine. She is actually taking them out for ice cream" Jessie says
"I want that" Charlotte says
"After lunch" I say
"Ok" she says
She quickly eats her lunch and throws her reach out. I finish up eating and she grabs my hand and starts 'dragging' me. I pick her up and put her on my shoulders. I turn around and go back to the ladies.
"You two want to join us for some ice cream" I ask
The agree so I grab some of the bags and they grab the rest. We go to my car and put the bags in the trunk. I get Charlotte in the car seat we just bought. Jessie and Maggie get in their car and I get in mine. I drive off and they follow behind. We get to an ice cream parlor and I park the car. I get out then help Charlotte get out. She runs over to Jessie and Jessie picks her up.
"Alright Char What would you like" I ask
"Chocolate" She says
"Alright. Ladies" I ask
"We can pay for our own" Maggie says
"No. My treat. You took Char shopping for me" I say
"Alright. I'll have mint chocolate chip" Maggie says
"Cookie dough" Jessie says
I nod and go up to the counter. I order the ice cream then pay. Once we get it we go over to a booth and sit down.
"I should introduce Char to my kids" Maggie says
"Yeah." I say
We all finish up our ice cream and go back to the hotel. I grab all the bags even though the girls try to protest and Char and I go up to mine and Joe's hotel room. I open the suitcase we bought her and fill that one and the one bag she already had.
"Hey babygirl did you want to go watch a movie with Uncle James and Auntie Allyssa" I ask
She nods so I take her to their hotel room. I go back to mine and sit on my bed looking at my phone in my hand. All of a sudden Joe speaks.
"You done flipping that phone" he asks
"Geesh. When did you get in here" I ask
"About three minutes ago. What's wrong" he asks
"What do you mean?" I ask
"Usually you're hanging out with the other ninjas and having fun. What's the matter" he asks
"While we were at the mall and the girls took Char shopping I was walking around. I got a phone call and this guy was demanding to know where Char was. He sort of sounded like the guy at the orphanage." I say
"Talk to the police about it" Joe says
"Yeah. Well Char and I are leaving in two days so I'll go talk to the police tomorrow. When are you leaving" I ask
"Not sure. I guess I'll leave when you guys leave. I think that when most of the other ninjas are planning on leaving." He says
We talk a little longer and then my phone buzzes. I look at it and it's a text from James. It's a picture of Allyssa and Char asleep saying that she can just sleep with them. Joe and I talk a little longer then fall asleep.
