Chapter 4: Class Trial

Twilight sat in between Rainbow Dash and Rarity during the trial. Where Silver Spoon would have sat was marked with a picture of her with a red X through it. "Do you have to do that?" Diamond Tiara asked.

"Death shouldn't tear apart friendships, right Twilight?" Lunar Nightmare asked. Twilight glared at her. "Well, without further ado, let's begin the Class Trial!" Lunar announced.

"Crusaders, did you notice anything while searching for Diamond Tiara?" Twilight asked.

They shook their heads and said, "No," at the same time.

"What about you, Diamond, what did you see when you found Silver Spoon?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"I went to her room to wake her up so we could eat breakfast together. Then I opened the door..." Diamond Tiara sniffled and the Crusaders comforted her.

"Twilight, Doctor? What caused her death?" Rainbow Dash asked.

"She was stabbed in the back and in the abdomen, but a slit wrist is what did it." Doctor answered.

"What could the weapon be?" Rarity asked.

"Something thin, but sharp enough to do damage." Twilight said.

"Like glass?" Trixie asked.

"Yes, why?" Twilight asked.

"Because Rainbow Dash found a sharp piece of glass under a Silver Spoon's bed. It was covered in blood on the sharpest edge." Shining Armor said.

"That explains why I found a broken mirror with a shard missing in a bathroom!" Pinkie Pie concluded.

"But her glasses were broken, what caused that?" Cadence asked.

"The only conclusion we could reach was that they were broken in a struggle." Twilight said.

"But we still don't know who killed her!" Applejack said quickly.

"We may, actually." Twilight said.

"Who?" Scootaloo asked.

"We said a message that Silver Spoon wrote in blood. It seemed to look like an apple." Doctor Whooves said.

"That means it has to be somepony that has to do with apples!" Rainbow Dash said.

"So only Applebloom or Applejack could of done it, right?" Fluttershy asked.

"Perhaps Applebloom, she would have a motive. She didn't like Silver Spoon." Rarity concluded. Everypony turned to Applebloom. "No! I would never do anything like that!" Applebloom protested.

"How do y'all even know the message was an apple, anyway? It didn't look like one!" Applejack asked.

"Aha, there's a catch. We had to turn Silver Spoon over to see the message. You couldn't of seen it! Unless..." Doctor Whooves said. Applejack nervously looked around as all eyes focused on her. "Y'all got the wrong idea, Sugarcube, I wouldn't, I couldn't." Applejack stammered.

"Applejack, would you really..." Applejack couldn't even finish.

"No! I wouldn't!" Applejack insisted.

"So it's settled, we vote for Applejack?" Rarity asked. Everypony nodded except for Applejack. "No! Y'all are gonna get it wrong, and we're all gonna die!" Applejack protested.

But nopony listened.

"The killer has been selected, everypony!" Lunar Nightmare exclaimed. A slot machine appeared. All three slots fell on Applejack's face and the word, 'Guilty' was underneath. Applebloom was stunned, "But.... But why?"

"I would do anything for the princess. I decided to pick off one of the fillies, but I didn't think she would be that good of a fighter. I broke her glasses and stabbed her in the stomach. When she tried to escape, I stabbed her twice in the back. I then slit her wrist and left. I didn't know she got outta bed. I didn't know she sold me out. I didn't know until I went back to try to hide some evidence. I saw the message and tried to cover it up and I hid the shard under the bed. I went back into my room so nopony would suspect me." Applejack explained.

"Then I guess it's time for execution! I have a special one for the Ultimate Farmer!" Lunar Nightmare exclaimed.

Execution: Apple Bucking

Lunar Nightmare pulled out a small hammer and hit a red button with it. The screen displayed the Luna side walking over to Applejack, and the Nightmare Moon side dragging her away by the tail with magic. Underneath a message displayed saying, 'Applejack has been found guilty, may the execution commence!' A metal claw came out of a doorway and grabbed Applejack by the neck. She was pulled away and the door shut behind her. A movie screen was conjured to watch: Applejack stood in what looked like Sweet Apple Acres, but the apples were large enough to crush a pony's head. An apple fell, and Applejack ran away to avoid it. This repeated several times until she got out of breath. A final apple fell and hit her square on the head, killing her instantly. The screen disappeared shortly after. The door opened, revealing Applejack's corpse.

The remaining ponies went back to their rooms for the night. Applebloom cried in grief, upset at loosing her sister. Thankfully, everypony survived the night. They had breakfast and went about their day. Twilight decided to go to the library, to escape the stress.
