Chapter 14: Caught in the Act

Rarity tossed and turned in bed, but slumber evaded her. She couldn't sleep knowing that there are only 4 ponies left. Once there are 2 left, they will compete against each other. Providing that nothing goes wrong, of course. A scream brought her down to reality. Rarity dashed out of her room to see blood seeping into the hallway from Pinkie Pie's room. No, Rarity thought, not Pinkie! She ran into the room to see Pinkie Pie dead. She was stabbed in the chest and head over and over and a pool of blood surrounded her. A small figure stood over the body, holding a knife in her mouth. A bow gave away her identity. "Applebloom? Is that you?" Rarity asked. The figure stepped into the moonlight, eve along that she was indeed Applebloom. She was covered in blood and held the blood stained knife. She held it in her hoof to speak. "Why hello, Rarity! A beautiful night, isn't it?" Applebloom asked, with a wild look in her eyes.

"Why? Why would you kill Pinkie Pie?" Rarity asked with tears in her eyes.

"I lost everything. Everything! Everypony I love is dead! My sister, my closest friends. And now Pinkie Pie." Applebloom's eye twitched.

"This is a very poor way to repay them!" Rarity said, remembering that Applebloom was just a filly.

Applebloom laughed wickedly, "They won't die in vain. Once I kill you and Derpy, Lunar Nightmare will let me go home! Isn't that amazing?"

"But, you can only kill one pony. Those are the rules!"

"Lunar visited me in my dream tonight, saying that if I killed the remaining players, I could leave this castle! Now, you will be able to join Sweetie Belle in the afterlife!" Applebloom grabbed the knife with her mouth. She charged at Rarity, but Rarity was faster and got away. Rarity ran down the stairs with Applebloom close behind. Applebloom grabbed the knife with her hoof and threw it at Rarity, hitting her in the back. Rarity fell over in pain as Applebloom stood over her. "You know," Applebloom said, "there is a time when somepony's name is mentioned for the last time. This is that time, I'm going to kill you, Rarity." Applebloom raised the knife. Rarity braced for death, but that fatal blow never arrived. She turned around to see Applebloom fighting off Derpy. Derpy pinned down Applebloom, avoiding her attacks. She took away her knife and stabbed Applebloom in the chest. She twisted the knife to kill her. Rarity ran over to Derpy happily. "Derpy, you saved me!" Rarity said, smiling.

"You ok, Rarity?" Derpy asked.

"I'm fine, thanks to you!" Rarity smiled.

"Indeed," Lunar appeared next to Derpy, "however, Derpy has killed Applebloom. Meaning that she must be executed." Tears welled up in Rarity's eyes. "It was for self defense! Surely, you can make an exception." Rarity pleaded. Derpy put her hoof on Rarity's shoulder. "It's ok, Rarity," Derpy said, smiling, "I will die knowing that I saved you. I will die knowing that I'm not a mistake. That's all I need to be happy!"

"I already had an execution set up for Applebloom, so I'm not going to build another one for you. I will take you into another room and blast you with magic." Lunar said. Lunar touched her horn to Rarity's back and healed the wound. "I'm doing that before I forget." Lunar said, pulling her horn away. Derpy took Lunar's hoof as she was led to another room. She waved to Rarity as she closed the door behind them.

Execution: Plain and Simple

A tv was conjured so Rarity could watch. A new cutscene played, Nightmare Moon came in from the right, took Derpy's hoof, and Luna led her away to the right. 'Derpy has been found guilty, let the execution commence!' Was shown at the bottom. Derpy stood in front of Lunar. "Are you sure you don't want a blindfold?" Lunar asked. Derpy shook her head. Lunar pointed her horn at Derpy. "Derpy," Lunar said, "you were a good friend when I was Luna. I will never forget you. Any last words?"

"Tell Rarity 'goodbye' for me?" Derpy asked.

Lunar smiled, "I will." The tv shut off. A flash of blue light was seen from under the door, followed by blood oozing in. Luna walked out of the room. "Derpy said, 'goodbye'" Lunar said.
