Chapter 9: Why?

Rainbow Dash woke up the next morning. She stretched her wings and went downstairs to join everypony else. When she went downstairs, only one pony was there. Scootaloo. She was crying, a mixture of fear and sadness. "Scoots, what's wrong?" Rainbow Dash asked, flying next to her friend.

"S-Sweetie Belle..." Scootaloo sobbed, pointing to the kitchen. Rainbow Dash walked into the kitchen, confused. She gasped as she saw what Scootaloo was talking about. "A body has been found! How tragic, a filly! Everypony start investigating!"

Applebloom, Scootaloo, and Diamond Tiara wept, mourning the loss of Sweetie Belle. Her eyes were glazed open in shock. Her stomach was ripped apart. The floor was covered in her blood. "Why? Why my sister?" Rarity sobbed.

"She was a true friend." Diamond Tiara cried. Rainbow Dash knelt down. Sweetie Belle's death was by far the most gruesome, it even made Rainbow Dash sick. Why be so brutal to a filly? Rarity looked in the sink. She found a blood stained knife with pink water in the sink. The pink, she assumed, was blood. A hasty clean up. "I found something, somepony didn't do a good job of hiding evidence." Rarity said, holding up the knife. Rainbow Dash looked at it. "That did it. But why so brutal?" Rainbow Dash thought aloud.

"Maybe somepony didn't like her." Rarity suggested.

"Yeah, but the only pony that ever had bad blood against Sweetie Belle was Diamond Tiara, and they made up." Rainbow Dash said.

"Yes, but how would a filly be capable of... That anyway?"

"True..." Rainbow Dash glanced around. She noticed that Diamond Tiara wasn't wearing her tiara. She walked over to her, "Where's you're tiara?"

"Oh, it's being washed! Yeah, it just needs to dry a little bit." Diamond Tiara said.

"Why in Equestria would you clean a tiara?"

"It gets dirty from time to time. I simply can't wear a dirty tiara." Rainbow Dash shook it off. She looked back at Sweetie Belle, noticing that there was blood on the horn. Sweetie Belle must've fought back. Before she could say anything, Lunar Nightmare said, "It is time for the trial, everypony! Go to the elevator pronto!"
