"Eomma! Eomma!", Yoongi ran inside the house with a large smile on his face. "What's wrong?", his mother asked. Yoongi's parents were in the kitchen. "I got in!", Yoongi's parents kept looking at him, "I got into university!". Yoongi's parents started to smile, "Yoongi, congratulations!", his father said. They were really happy for him. "But, son, I don't think we will be able to afford it...", "It's alright, appa. I got a part-time job.".
Yoongi always was a very mature kid: his mind grew up faster than his body. He knew the struggles his parents had to face and what reality was — he was too mature for his age.
School wasn't something that he particularly liked, but he wanted to make his parents proud. Besides, he was going to a course of his interest: studying something you like helps.
Hoseok postponed his education for a while: he wanted to focus on his career. Yoongi, Namjoon and Seokjin decided to continue. Jimin and Taehyung had to face one more year in high school, and Jungkook had two more. If everything went right.
Seokjin and Yoongi were attending different universities: Seokjin had regular physical lessons, while Yoongi was attending an online university as well as Namjoon. Seokjin was majoring in acting and as you can predict, it was a bit hard to have online lessons on a course that was very practical.
Yoongi wanted to be able to work on his music and improve as a musician. And was known by everyone that Yoongi's sleeping habits were a little strange. It was better for him to attend an online course so that way, he could manage his schedule better.
"Besides, if I work hard in the agency they will help me. They're giving Jin-hyung a flexible schedule so he could go to classes. I think they would help me too...", "Yoongi, we understand that you like what you're doing, but please focus on your education, okay?", his mother asked. Yoongi nodded.
He decided to sleep there for the night instead of going to the dorms. Yoongi was a lone wolf: he liked to have space for himself. But now he was living in a small dorm with the guys... It was a bit hard — if not impossible — to have some alone time.
Yoongi worked as a delivery man. He moved around in a bicycle. After work he would go to the agency and train with the guys: vocal lessons, dance lessons, work out... Name it: they did it. After that, he would go to their tinny studio and work a bit on his producing skills: sometimes alone, other times with Namjoon. Hoseok was also learning and would stop by sometimes.
If that wasn't enough, after all of this, he would go to the dorms and study. Yoongi and the others would sit in their beds in their cramped dorm and study.
They would do this. Everyday. It was exhausting.
At some point, Hoseok felt ill: the stress was too much. The week before, Yoongi took him to the hospital because he had an anxiety attack. He left. Hoseok left. Jungkook held on him and begged him to stay, but it was too much. They were devastated. Yoongi felt like leaving too.
Their lives as trainees were hard. They didn't know if they would be able to make it — if they would actually debut. Namjoon was told that the agency was having financial problems: they weren't a bit company, but Bang PD was trying his best and he saw something in the boys. He didn't want to give up on them.
They were tired. They were doubting themselves. But after a while, Hoseok showed up in the dorms again, "I came back because I believe in you, guys...", so many teary eyes that day.
Days, weeks, months...
Jimin was about to be cut out: he was a very good contemporary dancer, but he laked on the idol-like dance. But he worked hard and he was able to stay.
In the beginning, Namjoon didn't know if he wanted to be apart of the group: his dream was to be a rapper, but solo. But those were his brothers: he couldn't leave them. He was their leader. "Bangtan ou solo?", Bang PD asked him once, and without hesitating, with a confident voice, Namjoon replied, "Bangtan.".
They gave everything for their passion. They worked hard. And then Yoongi had the accident: he got ran over while working as a delivery man. He broke his shoulder. He couldn't work. How was he going to pay for the tuitions!?
He lied to the agency and told them he fell on the stairs because he was afraid they would let him go. He was desperate. "Yoongi, talk to them!", "I can't, hyung! I'll find another job.". Seokjin was mad, "You can't work like that! Tell PD-nim!".
And he did, "Why didn't you told me before, Yoongi? We would help you!", "I'm only telling because my parent can't pay for my tuitions...". "We'll help you. We need you here. Bangtan needs you. We'll pay for it.", Bang PD said with a smile. "I'll be in debt towards you, PD-nim...", "Just keep on working with us as you been doing so far...".
"We will go far. We have to believe we will. We have to work together and lean on each other.", Namjoon was telling them one night. "I'm so tired, hyung...", Taehyung told him. They all had tears on their eyes. They were exhausted. "We have to believe, Tae...".
At a Saturday night, when the guys were sleeping, Yoongi was in the living room looking at the night sky through the window. "Why aren't you sleeping, hyung?", Jimin went into the room. "I'm going in a bit. I'm trying to clear my mind...". Jimin went to were Yoongi was and back hugged him. "Need help with that?", you could hear the challenge in Jimin's tone. They were so cramped with work that they haven't been spending any time together. Besides, sharing the house with five more people didn't help. "Jiminie, if it was a few months ago, I would have said yes, but I'm just too tired...". "Good you said no because I'm exhausted...", they both laughed a bit. Even their laughs sounded tired.
Yoongi turned in Jimin's hold and they kissed. It was a calm kiss: so sweet... "Let's go to sleep, Jiminie...", "Can I sleep with you?". "The beds are small, but we can try...", and so they went.
