This one might be classified as a fluff because of the end, but that's alright because you're gonna need the calm before the storm of Broken Façade part two (which will be up tomorrow).
(Name) POV
A machine. That's all I've felt like being alive, was a machine. Cold, emotionless, seemingly heartless. A machine was what I was, and a machine is what I'd most likely always be. Despite being born human, I've eventually grown into a cold and heartless person. How? Shit happens, that's how. Shit that nobody has control over, which causes things like this to happen.
As a child, I would have never guessed I'd become this person. Someone who wouldn't even flinch if someone were to be getting killed right in front of me, that is me. That child with emotions was me, but is long dead now. What job does a person like me have a good shot at having?
A detective, mainly a homicide detective. Death didn't phase me, obviously getting me booted to the homicides and murder cases. It didn't matter to me though, but living in 2038 you'd have a lot of things that could happen which would almost get something out of me. Almost. Being 2038 now has introduced Androids into the mix. They are beings who look human, yet they are machines made by humans. A stupid idea really, because with the Androids doing all the work the economy is going to shit. No workers means no money to the humans, meaning lots of jobless people and guess where most of this happens?
Michigan. More specifically, Detroit, Michigan. Homicides and murder cases were going through the roof because now we not only have humans to worry about, but Androids who have decided to go rogue. Like I said: stupid idea. I never really liked Androids, but that didn't mean I hated them either. It was more of a 50/50 for me, which was better than how most humans felt. They treated the Androids like shit. No wonder these things are beginning to deviate and fight back I thought as I was pulled out of my internal monologuing by the flash of a camera.
"Detective (last name) we have to take picture evidence of the body, would you mind moving for just a second?" Andrew, a crime specialist asked and I moved to the side without a word. "An interesting murder case, is it not?" I heard a voice say and I turn my head to the side to see Connor the RK800 prototype. He is the 'Android sent by Cyberlife' as he put it. "I suppose. Nothing too special about it. Just another dead person." I say, nothing hinting in my voice if I even had a soul or not. "I thought humans were not keen on the idea of death?" Connor asked and I didn't seem to make any movements as I continued to stare at the dead body with my emotionless, dead eyes. "Usually humans don't, but I've learned to accept death. It does not phase me, and when I know I will die one day, it still does not phase me" I answer as Andrew finished taking pictures of the body. I crouch down, taking a look at the body as Connor crouches too. I pay no attention to him as he mumbles some random things to himself.
I got up, deciding to go elsewhere as I searched through the building and seen scratch marks and handprints on a door. "These are too small to be a male's hand" I note, staring at the slight blood on the wall. Our victim was male, meaning that a female had to have gotten her hands dirty and gotten his blood on them. "Yes, it would appear that way" Connor's voice said behind me, not even a flinch was seen on me. "Are you just going to follow me around? Don't you have a partner or something to follow around?" I ask and he looks away from the doorframe and to me, turning his head slightly to the side in a confused manner. If I had emotions, I probably would have smiled at his... Cuteness at the moment. Reminded me of a puppy at that moment. "He has told me that I should follow you, since you seem to be one of the best detectives in the department" Connor says, explaining himself as I looked down the hall.
"Hold that thought" I say, going to a suspicious door and putting my ear to it. "Go call your partner, I may need backup" I say, quieter than usual as he nods and walks off. When he disappears behind the corner, I open the door and walk inside. I close it behind me and make sure that it is locked. "Come on out, I know you are hiding" I say, trying to be sympathetic and friendly but failing miserably. "Please don't hurt me" a quiet voice said and I turned my attention to the closet. "Come out with your hands in the air" I command, pulling out my gun and pointing it at the closet as it opens and a scared female Android was sitting there with blood all over her.
