After she told me that she would walk with me, I tried to stop her, but she said that she wouldn't accept a no as an answer so I stopped what I knew would be inevitable and we just went out. And now here we are, walking side by side to the hotel. Sam was really quiet since we got out of the house. It's only been five minutes since we're walking, but she still didn't say anything, me either.

However, she is the one who offered to walk with me! I sighed and looked at her, I could get lost looking at her, she's so beautiful. Her hair was in a simple ponytail, but even if it looked like it was the most simple hairstyle in the world, in her it looked perfect, awesome and... Argh! I don't know, I shouldn't even be thinking about this. I sighed again, why the hell am I thinking about her so much? After this, I'm sure I won't see her again, I mean just looking at her I know she's not from here, also she has an aura around her that make her seem unapproachable, but for what I see, it's just a front. Maybe she's trying to protect herself from something? I don't know.

"What are you looking at?" She looked at me as she asked arching an eyebrow. I blushed and looked again to the front and searched for something to say without seeming like a total creep.

"I ah-" I'm stuttering! She's making me nervous! Damn! I coughed, trying to recuperate my voice before trying to talk again. "I'm just trying to find out why you came with me." Good one Alice! I patted myself for that save.

"I told ya', I just want to be sure that you got safe to your hotel. I wouldn't want something else happening to you after what happened last night."

She seemed genuinely worried, I mean I know that yesterday was weird with those guys, well I don't know, but I can imagine. Anyway, even so why is she so worried about me? I just met her last night and we barely even talked. I sighed again.

"Alice, are you okay?" I stopped and looked at her. I was confused, why is she asking me that? I think that my face says it all because just after that she said. "You've been sighing since we went out of the house."

I was surprised. No, more than that. I mean I know that I've been sighing, but did I sigh that much? I don't know, but I think I should just say something, she seems really worried. "Yeah, I'm fine. I just have a lot of things on my mind." Which it's totally true, even if all of them are about her, but whatever. We continued walking a bit more, but this time she tried to start a conversation with me.

"You know if you want, you can talk to me." I looked at her again, and I was surprised, does she just want to be polite? Or is something else? I tried to figure it out, but I couldn't come to a conclusion. She's really hard to read.

"Thanks, I'm just-" I sighed again, what should I tell her? "It's just that the summer it's already ending and that I have to go back home, go to college, go to work, you know, the normal."

"I see." When she said this, she seemed sad, why? "So... you're in college." She said almost as a question even if it was a statement, even so I just answered being polite and wanting to continue talking with her.

"Yep, I'm going to start my second year. What about you?" She looked at me, and more sadness could be seen from her eyes, but she quickly covered it. So quickly, that if you even blinked, you would have lost it.

"I'm not in college." She said it with so much coldness, is this why she's sad? Because she's not in college? I don't get it.

"Oh, I see..." I didn't know what to say. Being serious what can you say in a situation like this? Well, you're not losing much? I sighed one more time.

"Sorry." I turned to look at her so quickly that I got a little dizzy, but she seemed amused by this. "I didn't mean to ruin the mood." She seemed to be looking for words to continue so I just waited for her to continue talking while we walked. "My parents... They have a family business, and it's kind of expected for me- for us to continue the family business."

"Us?" She again seemed as she was searching for words, I think I got what she tried to say, even if I didn't understand why it was a bad thing, but something about it at the same time seems weird. Whatever I shouldn't pry on her life too much I won't see her again, I remembered myself.

"Yeah, me and my siblings." She smiled a little, but it was more of a crooked one. I chuckled at that, it was the first time I saw her... Well, human. However, I think she took it bad because she frowned. Damn it!

"Sorry for laughing. I didn't mean anything, it's just. This may sound weird, but you looked kind of human." Wow, I didn't expect that, I swear that her eyes almost popped out of her sockets. I didn't even think that it could be possible for that to happen until now, damn it! I'm going to have nightmares about this.

"Human?" She asked as I continued to imagine her eyes... Ugh, stop it. Wait, what did she just say?

"Hm? Yeah, you know. I really don't know you, but you just, how to say it. You release some kind of aura that seems like you're perfect. It's weird, I know, but-"

"I know what you mean." She cut me off before I could continue my rambling, thank god. However, her voice sounded really sad, as if being perfect was something wrong, something that if she could she would change it without second thought.

"Are you okay?" I surprise myself asking this before my mind could process it and she also looked surprised that I asked, but nonetheless she smiled, a real smile that made me also smile.

"Yeah," She chuckled before continuing. "thanks."

We continued walking, but now it was kind of on a more comfortable way. It was still a bit awkward, but not like at first. We talked between us, silly things like that I was here because my friends from college invited me to come here. One of them lives here, Karen, but besides that, most of us didn't know this place.

I did come here a few times with Karen on holidays, but I spend it more in her house, not sightseeing the town. It was really beautiful to be a small town, it had an awesome environment and there were awesome places to spend the summer, like the amusement park, the cinema, the recreation center and of course the bars. I spent more of my summer, at least at night, in bars. However, the rest of the day I spent it sleeping or walking through the town with my friends.

My favorite place so far, it's the beach, it's really beautiful and clean, it's obvious that the people from this town take great care of the beach. When I asked her why she was here she only said that she came here to escape from her parents. I tried to pry for a little more of information, but it was obvious that she wasn't comfortable with it, at least, for now. So I let it slide as subtly as I could and changed the topic. As we reached the hotel we went again onto another silence, I wanted to know more about her, but I also didn't want to seem to eager. Ugh, it's hard to try and form a friendship.

"You know," She started to talk, interrupting my thoughts. "I had a great time." She looked at me before continuing, "I came here to escape from everything. However, I normally just look at the beach all night before coming back home. And then the same pattern repeats." She stopped on her tracks and I followed suit, looking at those piercing emerald eyes. "Thank you. I didn't know what exactly was that I searched for, but now I have a better idea of what that could be." She smiled and I got lost on that smile.
