Anniversary {23}

*Sam's POV*

It's been a month since my date with Alice. Since then we've been on a date almost every week, and I also went from time to time to her house on weekdays. She didn't have much time, between college and work, but we spent the time together as much as we could, I normally wait for her outside of her work and I accompany her to her house, and while she's changing I made dinner. We talk as we eat and we usually see a movie if Alice is not too tired or doesn't have to study or do a paper for school, while she studied or did the paper, I read. I remember one time that Alice got near me while I was absorbed on my lecture and got my book. I jumped to get it back, but she didn't let me get it, she said that I was so absorbed in it that I forgot about her; she was jealous. After she said that I started laughing and she got beet red and started punching me, I was so damn happy that I couldn't stop laughing, she was jealous of a book. I still laugh when I remember it.

Today I decided to surprise Alice, it's been exactly a month since I asked her to be my girlfriend, so even if it's a damn Tuesday I decided to surprise her. I asked Karen for a key to Alice's house, I hope that she doesn't have a heart attack when she sees me... I went into the house and I go to the kitchen. I put the groceries that I brought on their place and I start baking. After dating for a month, I started knowing little things about her, like how she loves muffins, she says that her father made them a lot when she was a kid; she's also an only child. She loves blueberry muffins. So yeah, I'm planning to do just that. I smile while I start making the dough for the muffins and starting the oven, when the dough it's ready I fill the muffin tray and I put it in the oven. I start setting the table while I wait for the muffins to bake, and after that I start washing the cookware. Once I hear the oven ring I got the muffin tray out and get the muffins on a plate to decorate them.

"What are you doing here?" I hear Alice saying behind me surprised. I turn around and I smile when I see her, she's so cute at first hour in the morning.

"Hi." I say a little breathless. I turn around and get the plate of muffins on the table. "I made muffins." I say with a big smile on my face. She looks at the table and she looks shocked, she frowns and I know she doesn't get why I am here. "Alice." I say making her look at me. "Happy first month anniversary." I said shyly avoiding her gaze, but I hear her laugh and I can't avoid looking at her.

"So, that was it." She says with a tint of amusement in her voice. "I see, thanks, and happy anniversary too." She says before breaking into a fit of laughs again.

"What's so funny?" I say slightly pouting.

"Oh, gosh. Don't ever do that again." I hear her say seriously suddenly.

"What?" I look at her confused.

"Pout. It's the cutest thing ever." She says smiling, while I just blush.

"Gosh, you're killing me today, Sam." She says while approaching me.

"How so?" I ask confused, again. She smiles while she puts her arms around my neck.

"You're too cute today." She says before giving me a peck, making both of us smile.

"Look who's talking. You're too cute today too." I say putting my arms around her waist and making her get closer to me. "Too damn cute." I say a little husky, she smiles before giving me a peck again and running away. "Hey!" I yell at her when I see she's leaving the kitchen, so I follow her, but a door gets on my way. I groan as I can't do more than wait for her until she gets out of the bathroom. A few minutes later, she gets out and before I can say or do something, she's jumping on me, kissing me. I surround my arms on her waist as I start sucking her bottom lip, until I hear her groan and backing her head away.

"You've gotten better." She says a little breathless.

"I didn't know that that was a bad thing." I say wiggling my eyebrows; I see her look a little shocked before she starts laughing on my shoulder.

"I didn't say it was." She says between laughs, I start running my hand on her back while she's laughing until she backs away from me. "Come on, I have muffins waiting for me." She says going to the kitchen.

"Wait, for you? What about me?" I say indignantly. She turns her head to look at me as she arches an eyebrow.

"Did you not make them for me?" I groan at her answer.

"You're evil." I say jokingly and she starts laughing.

"Only with my blueberry muffins." I start laughing as I go after her to the kitchen. We sit and she starts eating the muffins. "They're good."

"You expected them to be bad?" I ask offended, she rolls her eyes.

"Yep, you're the worst baker in the world after all." She says flatly.

"Ouch!" I say faking I'm hurt. She continues eating the muffins while we talk, after a while she sees that I didn't pick any muffin, so she offers me one saying that she was only joking, but I told her that it was fine, I wanted her to eat them, and she starts joking about me wanting her getting fat. Gosh, in the end I had to eat a few or she wouldn't drop the topic.

After eating our breakfast, she gets ready for college while I wash the dishes. After that, I give her the copy of the keys that Karen gave me, so she can give them back to her. She looks a little unsure, but in the end, she picks them up, and we start walking to college. Before she leaves for class, she kisses me and then goes with Karen happily to class. I wait for her the rest of the day, I don't want to interrupt her when she's with Karen so I just wait for her outside her college. While I was waiting I received a few texts from her, we talked about how bored her classes were or about something that happened in her classes.

After she finished her classes I asked her if she wanted to go somewhere in special, she said that she was fine just going home, so we made our way there, and I made her spaghetti Bolognese. We spend little time in her house, because she had to go to her work, she told me to wait her here, and I agreed at the end. I wanted to accompany her, but she said that she didn't want me waiting outside like the other times, she knew that I didn't want to interrupt her while she worked. After waiting for hours, and ordering pizza for dinner, she finally came home. We cuddled on the couch as we see a movie on Netflix while we eat pizza. Once the movie finish, I get ready to go home, but Alice stops me. She starts kissing me when I try to leave the couch. She got me by surprise and I fell to the couch, making her to be on top while she kisses me, I enjoy the kiss until things start heating up, she put her hand under my shirt, and I stop her. She stopped the kiss as soon as I stop her, looking at me confused.

"Sorry, I just... can't." I say embarrassed. She doesn't move, she's looking at my eyes searching for something. I try to smile, but I know that it's a fake smile, and she knows it too. She starts incorporating when I stop her, with the hand that I have on her back I push her again against me. "I'm sorry, Alice. Let me explain myself, please." I see that I hurt her when I stopped her, that wasn't my intention at all, I just, I don't want to do it without her knowing all the truth about me. She sighs before incorporating again, this time I don't stop her and we both sit on the couch.

"Okay, explain." She says looking at me. Gosh, this is going to be hard.
