I've been texting Alice for a while now, we talk so much on the phone. We talk about every triviality that crosses our minds. From the weather to how was our day. I try to avoid talking about me as much as I can, I'm worried that I'll say something that will scare her. That I say something that I shouldn't, that I'll open up when I know that I shouldn't do that.
I can't open up to her, I can't fall for her, or at least, try not to fall even more for her. Lately, no, since I met her she's been invading my mind. She has entered and gotted comfortable there, and it seems that she will never leave. I shouldn't complain, I like her there. However, I know that I can't allow her to be there. I can't allow myself to have these feelings. I can't allow to give her even more hopes.
I know that she has feelings for me. It's obvious even without being able to read her mind. I wish I was normal, I wish that I met her in other circumstances, even if I know that it's not possible and it will never be. As such thoughts go in my mind, I feel my phone buzzing, I get it from my pocket and look at it, there's a text from Alice.
'Hey beautiful'
I smile as I see the text, and start typing an answer.
'Hey. What do you want?'
'Do I need a reason to send you a text?'
'Well... Yes?'
'*arches an eyebrow* Are you seriously asking me?'
'Maybe...'
'Tsk, Sam. Really?'
'Are you seriously asking me?'
'Oh, you did NOT say that'
'What did I do? *starts looking nervously at her surroundings*'
'Ha Ha I don't buy it, you're never nervous, Sam'
'I AM! You never saw me. That's it.'
'Wait, seriously? When where you nervous?'
'Erm...'
'See!'
'You didn't let me finish!'
'That's because you were thinking so much that you even texted it! *laughs loudly*'
'Wait, are you seriously doing that?'
'What?'
'Laughing'
'Eh... Yeah. Why?'
'Nothing...'
'WHAT!?'
'I said nothing, Alice'
'Yeah, and I said "WHAT!?"'
'*sighs heavily* I just don't get why you're laughing. That's it'
'*blinks repeatedly* Seriously? You could have just answered instead of saying "erm..." That's why I was laughing'
'Still don't get it'
'You seemed so smart...'
'Hey! I Am Smart!'
'Sure, whatever you say'
'What does that even mean?'
'See!? You aren't smart! *laughs hysterically*'
'Hey! Stop laughing at me, I'm gonna cry'
'Stop... You're killing me *laughs even more hysterically*'
'Tsk, I hate you I'm going to block you'
'What!? You won't dare'
'Are you sure you wanna dare me?'
'...'
'Alice?'
'...'
'Sorry?'
'...'
Damn it, I screwed it up. How the hell am I going to fix this? I sigh as I ask myself that, I look at my surroundings trying to calm down. I'm on the rooftop of a tall building, the views are amazing. The city is bustling in activity, the people walking, running to wherever they have to be. The magnificence of the buildings accompanied by the noises of the city makes it all so surreal. I love this feeling, at the same time that I hate it. It feels like I'm at the top of the world, and I hate it so much. However, seeing all this makes me feel normal, feelings like this makes me feel normal. Even if I'm not, and I never will be. I continue looking at the bustling city as I feel a buzz on my phone.
'Are you there?'
'Yeah, I'm sorry Alice. Are you still mad at me?'
'*blink repeatedly* What are you talking about? I've never been mad at you'
'Wait, really? *smiles happily* I thought that you were *pouts*'
'*laughs hysterically* I told ya' to stop that. Do you want to kill me?'
'Wait! Don't die! I can't see you again if you go to heaven'
'Wait, who's saying that I'm going to heaven, why can't I go to hell?'
'That's obvious. You're too good to go to hell'
'So... if I go to hell are you going to see me?'
'Of course, but it's impossible. Like I said to good for going to hell'
'Well, that can I change it. But really, are you planning to go to hell or something like that?'
I stop as I read that, I'm already in hell...
