*Sam's POV*
We're sitting on a bench, on the dorm's rooftop. After agreeing to talk, she said that I should follow her, and so I did. We didn't talk as she directed me here. We just walked pretty much side by side, she one step ahead, but side by side nevertheless. Once here she sat up on the bench and I did the same. It's been a few minutes since then. I know that I said to talk, but I don't know where to start. I...
"Sam." Alice says, interrupting my thoughts. I look at her asking myself what does she wants. "You said you wanted to talk. I'm waiting." She's a little mad, I guess I deserve it, no, I totally deserve it.
"First, I'm sorry, Alice. I'm really sorry." I sigh before continuing. "After I left, I went home and I fought with my dad. He's strong headed," I smile as I say this. "my mom says that I'm worse than him, but I'm not so sure about that." She laughs, gosh, how I missed her laugh. I zone out and I see Alice waving me to continue. "So... Oh, yeah. I fought with my dad for weeks. After that, I was so tired that I practically slept for a week. I know is hard to believe, but the reason I didn't text you or called. It's because; or I was fighting with my dad or I was just asleep. I'm really sorry, Alice. I should have told you something, but the truth... The truth is I lost the fight. My dad doesn't want me here. The only reason that I'm here, it's because of my mom. She said that she'll talk with him, and that I should go get you." I finish smiling, she's surprised, I guess she didn't expect that.
"Are you okay?" Alice says after a few seconds.
"Huh?"
"You fought with your father, are you okay after that?" She's asks, worried about me.
"Yes, I'm fine. A little tired after fighting with him for weeks, but fine nonetheless." I say smiling. She smiles too, but I see the worry and the sadness in her eyes.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that. So... I'm guessing I'm the first girl you're interested?" She asks curiously and a little shy. I chuckle at her.
"Yes. You are the first person that I'm interested in, Alice." When she hears me she's surprised. "It is that surprising?"
"Well... yes. Did you see yourself in a mirror?" I laugh. Gosh, she's so cute.
"Did you?" I ask her arching an eyebrow teasing her. She laughs again. Gosh, it's the best sound in the world.
"Yes. I did." She says flirting with me. She did not just do that. I groan at her, she's killing me.
"Alice, I know that... I hurt you, and we still need to talk, but, would you go out with me?" Her face says it all. She's shocked, happy, excited.
"Are you asking me to a date, Sam?" She's flirting with me again. Her voice it's... Urgh! Just kill me!
"Yes."
"Okay. However..." What? What does she want? I'm a little scared for the look on her face. "Tell me more about the fight with your father."
"Huh!?" I ask surprised.
"Maybe I can help you, I mean, when I told my parents that I was gay, it was pretty easy, they already knew, they said that it was too obvious. Anyway, I made a lot of 'research' for the day so maybe I can help you." She's proud as she says this. I guess her parents are pretty cool after all. However, how do I tell her that the problem, it's not that she's a girl, but that she's from here. How can I explain that without telling her my background...
"Alice, I know this doesn't make sense. And I swear that I'll explain it, but not right now. Anyway the problem it's not that you are a girl." I pause a second so she assimilate what I'm saying. "The problem it's that you're from here." I see the shock in her face, she doesn't get it. I can't blame her. "Like I said, I know that it doesn't make sense, but please just give me time. I'm not ready to tell you, yet. I hope we can let it slide for now and I'll tell you in a future."
"Okay, as you said I don't get it, but I'll let it slide, for now. Now... that date, what are your plans?" I laugh, damn it, where should we go.
"Do you have any place you want to go?" I ask, hoping that she helps me here. It's my first date! Or at least my first real date.
"Mmm, maybe." I look at her pleading. "Okay, okay, gosh, how can you be so cute." I laugh as I kiss her cheek, and I see her blush, she's so red... "I hate you."
"Nah, I don't think you do." I say smiling and giving her another kiss on her cheek.
"Ugh, stop it." She says backing away from me.
"Do you really want me to stop?" I ask her seductively. She looks at me shocked, still blushing like crazy. She's so damn cute, I want to kiss her again. I look at her lips, gosh they're so...
"Sam." Alice says faintly, interrupting my thoughts, and I look at her eyes as I catch her looking at my lips. I smile as I see this. Can she be any cuter? As I start approaching her, I hear my father calling. I groan as I reach for my phone. I'm going to kill him.
"What!?" I ask yelling as soon as I put the phone on my ear.
"Is that way to talk to your father?" He says angryly. I run my hand through my hair as I walk away from Alice.
"What do you want dad?" I say calmer this time.
"I talked with your mom."
"And?"
"And... Okay."
"That's it? You interrupt me, to say that?" I ask him yelling, he did not interrupt just to say that, right?
"I thought you wanted to know."
"Fuck, yeah, but not right now."
"Oh! Sorry for interrupting."
"You better be, now bye."
"Wait!" He stops a few seconds, making sure he had my atention. "Be careful, I don't want you getting hurt."
"I don't care, she's worth it." I finish talking with him, finally. And I get the phone back on my pocket. I turn around and I approach her again. "I'm sorry for that, my dad is the best at interrupting in the best moment." She laughs, she knows that I'm right, two times that he interrupted, and both were at the worst moment possible.
"It's fine. Everything okay?" She asks worriedly.
"Yeah, she just called to say that he gets it. That he doesn't want me to get hurt, that's it." I tell her nonchalantly as I sit at her side. "I know that he loves me, but sometime his way of showing it up, it's not the best." I say smiling a little hurt and I feel Alice holding my hand. I look at our holding hands and I smile like a fool. I give her a little squeeze and I see her flinch. " What? Did I hurt you?" I ask as I reach her hand closer to me examining it.
"No, it's just-"
"From when you hit me." I finish for her as I see the redness of her hand. "I'm sorry. I should have stopped you." I tell her looking at her eyes.
"I was the one I hit you, I should-"
"I deserved it." I tell her interrupting her. I caress her hand carefully and slowly. " I'm sorry that I hurt you."
"It wasn't your fault, Sam. I hit you." She says laughing.
"I know, but I could have stopped you. I was just so surprised that it didn't even cross my mind." I frown, I should have stopped her, I shouldn't have let her get hurt.
"Hey." She says as she reaches my cheek with her other hand. "It was my decision to slap you, and it's not your fault that you're harder than a rock." She says with amusement in her voice. If only she knew...
