After an unusual encounter, Jungkook becomes obsessed with helping Taehyung cross things off his bucket list.

[edited] There wasn't much that was very typical about Taehyung's life. Partly because Taehyung himself wasn't very typical and partly because he was given different circumstances than most people.
However, he still did a few normal things, such as stalking his crush who probably doesn't even know him on Instagram.

Jimin and Jungkook are close friends for as much as he knows, but maybe they are actually dating.
It's stupid anyways. He's seen the younger a few times in the hall, but he doubts Jungkook even knows who he is. Why does he even have a crush on the stupid sophomore anyways?
He wishes Jungkook was a player or just generally a jerk, but that couldn't be further than the case. He's nice, a little quiet and gets into trouble with his friends Jimin, Yoongi, and Namjoon sometimes. He's good at sports. The only thing is that lately he hasn't been at school much and has been getting into more trouble than usual. There's been rumors about him getting arrested, but he doesn't know if they're true.
Whatever, not his problem.
Taehyung's biggest concern is that he's stuck at the hospital for the rest of the day and doesn't know what to do with himself.
He sighs and opens up a battered journal that hardly ever escapes his clutches.
His beloved bucket list fills these pages. He started this a year ago and has checked off many things as well as added some. Mostly small stuff like dying his hair and going to his first high school party. Even getting drunk for the first time, which didn't end well for anyone.
His mood darkens when he sees there's nothing for him to do off of it. He can't even take his camera and post pictures on his anonymous Instagram account.
His poor health is something he's done a pretty good job of hiding from his few friends, so when he's sick, he's stuck being alone.
Taehyung's doctor, Dr. Lee comes in with his chart. The man gives the boy ones of his usual smiles.
"How are you feeling today Taehyung?" he asks.
"I don't like this treatment," Tae admits, hating to complain. "It makes me tired. I can't just sleep all the time. I need to keep marking things off my bucket list."
Ah yes, the beloved bucket list. Dr.Lee knew Tae very well after treating him for years. The boy had two major passions: doing things on his bucket list and photography.
"I know Taehyung, but your body needs the rest. If everything goes smoothly, you'll be able to go back home, school, and get back to your life."
The boy sighs and nods, knowing that's simply the truth.
At first glance, Taehyung seems very simple, almost childlike, although his personality has matured more. Still, there had always been a depth that he didn't let a lot of people see. Maybe it's because he didn't want people to know that he is frustrated and often felt lonely. Or perhaps he doesn't want anyone to know that he is secretly afraid.
After Dr. Lee leaves, Taehyung takes out the DS his friend Seokjin lent him because he has nothing to do, completely unaware that Jungkook is on the other side of the building.
It's not that Jungkook hates hospitals or feels uncomfortable around sick people. He just generally feels uncomfortable around people he doesn't know. He sucks at small talk. Usually, he just prefers to listen, but that makes others think he's just a jerk or doesn't care what they're saying. In reality, Jungkook just isn't great at expressing himself.
However, he needs to figure out something quick since he's going to be at this hospital for the next couple of weeks volunteering. Of course, his mother made sure that he was going to be visiting patients and keeping them company.
He really screwed up.
At least he was just going to be visiting younger kids and people his age. Dealing with the elderly wasn't in his skill set.
Jungkook nervously is lead into the first room where a young girl is in a hospital bed that makes her look even smaller than she is. Tubes are sticking out of her and he immediately feels sick that someone so young is here.
"annyeonghasimnikka," he says and introduces himself over the top formally, which earns him a glare for the nurse but the girl thinks it's funny. Her soft giggle fills the room.
"Nice to meet you Jungkook oops. I'm Mi Jin," she answers shyly.
"It is a great honor to meet you and your noble teddy bear."
Another giggle.
He grins as she begins to get more comfortable with him. Maybe this won't be so hard after all.
Eventually, he's lead out of the room by the nurse who seems to have warmed up to him a little after watching him with Mi Jin. He learns her name is Wendy.
"I'm going to take you to a boy who's around your age," she says. "He's a little...different, but he could really use someone. No one ever visits him. It's a shame. I think you two will get on just fine though."
A guy his age. That's going to be harder. He wasn't really good around anyone over the age of five. They expected too much of him and were always quick to judge.
Wendy leads him to a room at he end of the hall and opens the door.
"Tae, you have a visitor," she says.
She finally opens the door wide enough so he can see. Dark caramel skin, brown hair that is messily in a mullet, and warm eyes. He looks really familiar to Jungkook.
The male looks at him with disbelief because there's no way.
"Jeon Jungkook meet Kim Taehyung."
[so this was short, but this is the first chapter redone in the new way. i hope this didn't suck too much. i promise it will get better 😬]
