[ Chapter Eleven ]
RAYLYNN WAITED FOR hours until Rebekah returned to the compound with an exhausted Davina in her arms. The huntress had been glad that the young girl was alright, especially after the harrowing experience she went through. But Davina would live, even if she did not want to.
For the rest of the night, Raylynn ignored Klaus. She was still furious at the hybrid for what he did to Davina and her friend. She also did not want to be around him after she threatened to out him to the human faction of New Orleans. She knew that it had been a petty move to make, but she had always been a petty person.
By lunch time the next day, Raylynn sat next to Davina in the girl's bedroom with a copy of Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. Davina insisted that Raylynn be the only one allowed inside, considering she was still wary of everyone else in the compound. So the huntress made it known that whatever the young witch said goes. She deserved it after the last few days she had, or even the last few months.
"You know, I love Harry, but he's a bit of an idiot." I voiced, pausing from where I read the book aloud. Davina released a giggle from where she laid beside me on the bed. "I'm serious. I feel like he wants to get into trouble at this school. I mean, why just stand there staring at words written in blood on the wall and not run for the hills. I'm telling you, he's an idiot."
Davina fell into a longer fit of giggles at Raylynn's assumption of the fictional wizard. "I think he was curious." She stated, after she calmed her laughter. "He was hearing a strange voice in his head."
Raylynn shut the book and sit in next to her on the floral bedspread. "Yeah, and I would have run for the hills if I heard that. People just don't start hearing happy voices in their head."
Davina went to counter the huntress's statement, until the door of her room eased open to reveal Marcel. He stepped over the threshold with a back of take-out. Raylynn glared toward the vampire, before Davina took the matter into her own hands.
The young witch pushed herself up from the bed and extended her arms in the man's direction. Her magic flowed through her palms and sent Marcel flying through the air, slamming him into the wall behind him.
Which also made him drop the food, making Raylynn frown. She had actually been hungry.
"Go away!" Davina screamed.
Marcel stumbled to his feet. "Come on. You got to be starving. You haven't since..."
Davina cut him off. "Since your best friend killed my best friend?" She sneered toward him.
