[ Chapter Thirty-Two ]

EVEN AFTER HE learned about Freya's past, Klaus became more skeptical of his long lost sister. Her backstory nearly mirrored the hybrid's own. Freya lost her son to the horrors of the world, while Klaus gave his daughter away to save her from them. All because their aunt Dahlia wanted to collect a debt from their mother and younger sister, Esther. Klaus remained distrustful of the woman.

Although, the hybrid did not have the time to pursue his new found skepticism. More pressing issues were afoot. The vessel Rebekah inhabited had a mind of its own, literally. The original soul, Eva Sinclair, woke from inside and began to wreak havoc on New Orleans. Eva went after children, Hope included, and took Rebekah hostage inside her own mind. Raylynn had also gone missing, leaving the Mikaelsons to believe that Eva had taken her as well.

Marcel took it upon himself to find both Rebekah and Raylynn. Elijah and Hayley headed over to the LaRue Mansion to find Josephine, a very influential witch who saw over the different covens within New Orleans. The woman placed a twenty-four hour hold on killing Eva Sinclair's body. Unfortunately, that time had run out. Klaus stayed behind at the compound to confront Freya to figure out what she might know about their deranged aunt.

The eldest Mikaelson did eventually turn up at the compound, but Klaus was in no mood for her witch speak. So keep her quiet and to make sure she did not double-cross him, he slapped the anti-magic shackles onto her wrists and forced her to join him to Lafayette Cemetery. Esther was being held there, after she had been turned into a vampire by a last minute switch in the spell that shoved Rebekah into Eva's body. Klaus wanted a spell to expel the original soul from her body, leaving only Rebekah behind.

Once the spell was found, Elijah came to the tomb in need of Freya's assistance. Vincent Griffith, the man that held Finn Mikaelson's soul just a few days earlier, found a way to help Rebekah. But, there was a problem. Because all the witches that Eva took were now linked to her, including Raylynn Montgomery, the connection had to be severed by an incredibly powerful witch. And the only one with an enormous amount of power available was Freya. The only downside, the woman had to channel both Klaus and Elijah to hold the power required to save everyone.

Klaus had been against the plan from the beginning. He still believed that Freya was tyring to hurt his family and would not let someone he viewed as a threat into his mind. Since the hybrid did not want to cooperate, Freya snapped his neck and left him in the crypt of the cemetery.

She and Elijah headed over to an abandoned warehouse on the outskirts of the city where Eva was confirmed to be keeping the witch children, along with Raylynn and Josephine. They began the spell by sending Vincent and Marcel into Eva's mind to rescue Rebekah before it was too late. In doing so, Eva would cease to exist and the witches taken would be spared.
