2.5 | Spying On the Enemy

[ Chapter Twenty-Six ]

     WHEN RAYLYNN HAD been take by Mikael, Elijah went missing. He distracted Esther and Finn's, the other Mikaelson brother, werewolves, while Hayley helped a few of the wolf children escape from being turned. But he never returned. Everyone had gone crazy trying to find the Original, but to no avail. They found nothing. Not even a lead.

     Klaus tortured plenty of witches to get information on where his brother disappeared to, but they were not willing to reveal anything. Hayley spent her time in Hope's nursery, wallowing in her guilt for leaving Elijah's behind.

     Raylynn stayed in her bedroom to recuperate from her ordeal with Mikael. Klaus, and Hayley, insisted that she rest to recover from the blood she had lost to the horrible man, even though the hybrid heeled her with his blood. Raylynn told them that they were being ridiculous, but they did not let up on their coddling.

     When the sound of torturous screams ended, the huntress pushed herself from her bed and exited her bedroom. She moved out onto the second level walkway and found Klaus at the entrance of his room covered in blood. Raylynn followed after him, even when he moved over to a sink to wash the dark blood off his hands.

     Hayley stood in the doorway that led to the nursery, which connected hers and Klaus's bedrooms. "Oh. So, I see your interrogation went well?" She questioned in a sarcastic manner.

     Klaus glanced at the mirror in front of him as he continued to rub his skin clean. "Eh, it turns out these witches are delicate creatures." He looked toward Raylynn and set her a light grin. "No offense to you, love." He then pulled his hands out of the running water and turned off the facet. "No matter. I suspected my mother had Elijah captive."

     "Great. Let's go find them." Hayley exclaimed.

     Klaus wiped his hand on a towel, before he turned to face the two women, who now stood next to each other. He then proceeded to shake his head. "Esther is too powerful. She won't be easily found. I need to draw her out." He tossed the towel back to the sink and gripped the sliding doors to close then, but Hayley stopped him.

     "Wait, where are you going?" She asked.

     Klaus gave her a patronizing smile. "I'm going to change my shirt, and then I'm going to find my brother."

     Raylynn pressed her lips together to stop herself from laughing at the man's tone. She would be sure to hear an ear full from Hayley is the hybrid saw her.

     "Klaus, let me come with you." Hayley stated, clearly annoyed by his need to rescue his brother alone.

     Raylynn nodded in agreement. "Yeah, me too."
