[ Chapter Eight ]

FOR THE REST OF the night, Raylynn chose to ignore the rest of the Mikaelson family, which now only consisted of Klaus and Rebekah. She had no way to get out to the bayou where Elijah and Hayley remained. Where Elijah writhed in pain from a toxic hybrid bite from his brother and Hayley stayed to keep him company. So she had to stay confined within the walls of the massive home.

The next morning, Klaus had arranged for an elaborate breakfast to be held in the dining room. Raylynn obviously ignored his and Rebekah's request to join them. She continued to sit in her room, watching the television she had forced one of Klaus's compelled maids to get her and stuffed her face with strawberry Poptarts and packages of peanut butter crackers.

Raylynn was still pissed at Klaus for what he did to Elijah and Hayley. He had no right to do that to them. He was allowed to be angry and hurt by his brother's accusations. He could even act like a child and throw a complete temper tantrum, but he did not get the right to poison his brother and jeopardize the life of his child.

Near lunch, Raylynn had grown tired of the artificial taste of fruit and decided to venture from her safe haven to find some real food. The huntress slowly peered out of her bedroom door to make sure that the hybrid or his Original sister were nowhere in sight, before she made her way into the hallway down the large staircase. Her fuzzy soaked covered feet light padded down the hardwood steps and remained on the lookout for either of the Mikaelson siblings.

Raylynn hit the lowest level of the home and heard nothing in her immediate vicinity. She moved around into the living room and winced when she realized what she had to walk passed to reach the kitchen. Klaus's study. She had not encountered him so far, so she knew that he had to be in there, unless he left for the day.

Raylynn kept her steps light as she got closer to the sealed double doors, but she came to a halt when she heard a voice inside. And not a voice that she recognized. Raylynn moved toward the doors and leaned against the white surface to hear a female speak within the room.

"Would a laptop kill you?" The woman exclaimed in frustration.

"That typewriter was good enough for Hemingway." Klaus voiced.

Raylynn rolled her eyes. The man certainly liked to boast about his knowledge of the past.

"I see the resemblance. Booze and random acts of violence."

Raylynn raised a hand to hold against her mouth in an attempt to stifle her laughter. She did not know who the mystery woman was, but she sure did like her.
