[ Chapter Three ]

WAKING THE NEXT morning was extremely uncomfortable for Raylynn. The warm humid air clung to the young woman's skin refusing to evaporate from the soft surface, her throat doing everything in its power to constrict even the slightest movement. For a few moments, the huntress had forgotten what had transpired the night before. Raylynn thought she had gotten into a fight while drunk, again, but soon remembered what had really happened.

The young woman figured that the link between herself, a werewolf, and a witch would help with the bruises that wrapped around her throat. But, she was unlucky with her assumption. Raylynn managed to catch a glimpse of herself in the mirror, and found the ugly blueish-purple splotches that dotted her pale flesh. It was definitely not a pretty sight.

Early that morning, Raylynn found herself sprawled out across the hardwood floor of an upstairs study. Hayley sat next to her with several leather bound journals laid around her. She skimmed through them at first, until she realized the owner of said journals. Elijah Mikaelson. The young huntress had no intention of reading from the mind of the noble Original. She had a hunch that most of them were filled with the man ranting about his demon siblings. At to be truthful, Raylynn did not blame him. If she had siblings that had no remorse for their actions and slaughtered village after village just because they were bored, the woman would most likely complain about them too.

After a long while of watching her best friend read through the journals, Raylynn pushed herself into a sitting position and turned toward the brunette. "You know, I think we should get up and make the Mikaelsons order pizza. 'Cause I am starving." She exclaimed in a sing-song tone.

Hayley lifted her gaze from the journal held across her lap, and asked, "Do you actually think you can make them do anything?"

A smirk formed on the huntress's lips, as she hopped to her feet. "I might not be able to make them, but I can annoy the hell out of them until they do it." Raylynn then whirled on her heel and made her way out of the room. She was able to hear her best friend sigh behind her, and then climb to her feet as well.

The two women strode out of the upstairs study, and walked down the rounded staircase that led to the foyer. As they approached the sitting room, voices were soon heard through the open door of the open space.

"I cannot believe you disposed of those vampires without me. You know how I love to set things on fire!" Rebekah whined loudly.

"Was I supposed to leave them in the front yard to rot?" Klaus countered. "Besides, they were my responsibility. They attacked the little hunter and helpless pregnant girl who's carrying my child."
