[ Chapter Fifteen ]

ONCE CELESTE HAD been subdued, Raylynn and Hayley took the unconscious witch out to the bayou where she could reverse the curse she placed on the Crescent wolves. The huntress wanted to stay and help interrogate the witch, or at least get a good shot in for the hell she put them through, but she had been called back to the compound by Elijah.

Raylynn would have ignored him and remained with Hayley, but she did not want the Original to become suspicious. Well, more suspicious that he already was. Hayley needed to save her family from Celeste's curse, and Raylynn would be damned if she let Elijah sand in the way of that.

The huntress made her way back to the compound in a timely manner to find Elijah. She did not know if he had found Klaus and Rebekah from the sanitarium or not, mostly because she failed to stick around long enough to know. Raylynn entered the courtyard to see a few vampires milling around, until her gaze landed on Elijah, who stood on the second level. He motioned her the huntress to follow him, so she hurried over to a staircase and met him mid-stride.

"So what do you want?" Raylynn questioned him as they walked in the direction of Klaus's bedroom. "I was kind of busy with something."

"I need your help." Elijah stated honestly.

Raylynn raised a brow at his statement. "Really? Why me?"

"My brother has a mystical torture device in his chest, and the mother of his child is inexplicably missing." He exclaimed with a sharp look in my direction. "So, you are the only one at my disposal."

Raylynn pursed her lips and nodded. "Right." She followed the Original through the open bedroom door, until his words registered in her mind. "Wait! Did you say mystical torture device?"

The two of them moved further into the room to see Klaus laid across the bed. His shirt had been pealed open to reveal his toned bare chest. Raylynn moved closer to the king sized mattress and found a long angry red line down the center of the hybrid's sternum, while a layer of sweat covered his entire body.

Raylynn scoffed. "Oh, you weren't kidding."

"I had to resort to drastic measures." Elijah stated as he removed his suit jacket and set it onto the bed at Klaus's feet. "I drove Papa Tunde's blade into his chest."

"And it's still inside him?" Raylynn questioned.

Elijah nodded. "And every second it remains causes Niklaus untold suffering."
