Watching Jin's recovery was painful for Yoongi. Watching Taehyung's downward spiral was even more painful. In the midst of realizing his love for Jimin, Yoongi watched his role model be beaten half to death and all the way to mental instability. As much as Yoongi noticed the rows of cuts and scars on Jin's arms, he noticed the hollow look in Taehyung's eyes even more. It hadn't been hard to deduce what had happened. Obviously Taehyung and Jin had loved each other. Right before that day, Taehyung had started living out of his car. He became cagey and fierce like a cornered animal. Yoongi just never thought it would devolve so quickly. Taehyung needed family. Yoongi knew that he and the boys were all Taehyung had. Even when all contact with Taehyung had been severed, Yoongi despaired for his friend in need of a home. He couldn't really argue, though. Everyone else believed Taehyung was a monster. Yoongi saw through that to what Taehyung really was: a sad boy with no home, no family, and no friends.
