A Revelation of Sorts

Days have passed. I still find my self-unaccustomed in my new surroundings. Klaus promised me that I would adjust, I haven't. I'm beginning to think I might never. I'm in my room, trying to think of something to do. I feel like in the few days I have been here, I have done everything there is to do. Klaus says that none of his family including himself can't go into the town, and since they can't, I can't. To my apprehension, we are staying in the Mikaelson manor Klaus renovated back in his time in Mystic Falls. It seems that in the ever talked about Mystic Falls there is not much to do. My room is lack-laster with decorations, but it does the job. The small bookshelf in the left-hand corner gives me solace. Although my environment has changed, my books haven't. Out of all the Mikaelsons, Hayley is the only one that can go into town. She has some old friends here or something. I still don't understand why I can't go with her, but Klaus assures me that I am safer with him. He still hasn't told me the full story of why he can't travel into the city. Except that he was 'banished' by a friend whom he had wronged. I guess that the 'event' that caused his punishment happened around the same time as the whole 'hybrid' debacle. I don't blame the person who banned Klaus. I've heard rumours of how he had his curse removed and if what happened is like the rumours. Then I think Klaus is deserving.

"Camille, why don't you join us for lunch?" I snap out of my thoughts and face Klaus. His head is poking around my door. Things have been off between us. I am still angry I think. Getting moved to a new place without my permission. I haven't been told why. I only have the information that I have gathered from snippets of conversations. Conversations in the 'Mikaelson only' meeting room. It turns out it is hard snooping in a house full of vampires that have supersonic hearing.

"I'll be down soon, just let me get ready." I'm not making my first appearance of the day in my pj's.

"Okay, I guess I'll see you downstairs then."

"Mhmm." I wait until he has closed the door and then pull the covers over my head. I can imagine that I am back in my apartment in New Orleans. I hear a shriek and a yell. I groan and am shaken back into reality. A push the covers down and sit on the side of my bed. My pale feet feel cold on the wooden floorboard. I walk over to my wardrobe and grab the first thing I see. My black chiffon dress all cleaned up. I shove it back in. No way am I wearing that for lunch. I pick a simple outfit, black jeans and a white vintage tee. I put on some socks and make my way out of my room. The door creaks as I close it. Great. Now they all know I'm coming. I walk down the stairs. Wait- back up. I look around the corner. No, it can't be. The left door is open. The 'Mikaelson Only' door. I tip-toe across the corridor and look inside.

"Woa-" The room is covered in papers, maps, bullet points, photos and strings. What has been going on in there? I step inside.

"Camille?!" Ugh, I turn round and face Klaus. Disappointment is clear on his face. "What are you doing?"

"Trying to get some answers," I cross my arms defiantly.

"Is this the cause of the strangeness between us?"

"What other reasons could it have been?"

"I thought you might have found out why I was banished."

"It's not just you that's banished Klaus, your whole family is." Or are they?

"I haven't been totally honest with you." I scoff. "My whole family isn't banished, I am-"

"So why have I been kept on a leash?"

"-They aren't exactly welcome here, hence the reason I thought it was unsafe for you." He looks at me. "We have made some enemies here."

"You've made enemies everywhere Klaus, how is Mystic Fall any different?"

"Well the people we have made friends with are especially dangerous, they would take advantage of you."

"You're telling me there are people more dangerous than you here? More dangerous than your family?"

"We can't control everyone love, witches for example!"

"More dangerous than the french quarter witches even?" I find that hard to believe.

"These witches make the french quarter ones look like the kind that pulls bunnies out of hats." He smirks. Wow okay. "In your history books have you ever came across the Gemini coven?" That name I am familiar with.

"The ones that kill their own twins?"

"Yes well, two sets of Gemini twins live here." He looks me dead on. "One of them went rogue and killed their whole family in search of the younger twins." Wow. "He aims to be the leader of the Gemini coven, to do this he has to make sure that no other Gemini's live. He is a siphon as well."

"Wait-whats that?"

"Siphons have the ability to 'take' magic as they have none of their own." He isn't kidding, the witches here are wack. "Another name you may be familiar with Camille is Bennett."

"Bennett like the Bennett family, like the most powerful witch family besides Mikaelson?"

"The very only, and this witch Bonnie, is quite possibly the most powerful witch I've met other than Esther or Dahlia."

"Wow, okay."

"Oh and then there's the Salvatores and their spouses." He smiles. "I do believe you've met Stefan when he came to New Orleans."

"Stefan was nice though?!"

"Yes, Stefan is nice, but not when he is a rippa. You've heard of the Monterey Massacre I take?"

"When the village of Monterey was wiped out?"

"Stefan's handiwork accomplished that in one night alone."

"Geez!"

"Stefan's brother Damon, a good lad. A little temperamental, overall the more dangerous brother. Surprisingly not as cruel as Stefan lately, a byproduct of his relationship with Elena."

"Elena?"

"Oh, you've heard us talk of Katherine yes and Tatia? Well, this is the latest doppelgänger."

"Oh."

"Anyways asides from some overly irritable werewolves and some other vampires Mystic Falls isn't too bad." He smiles at me. "Camille I do apologise for keeping you here." He takes my hand. "But I do believe it is for your own benefit." I look down at our hands.

"Okay, but only for a little longer than at least let me roam the town on my own. Then at least no-one will know of my ties to you and your family."

He looks at me, pondering.

"Deal, but you have to have vervain on you at all times." I nod. He closes the door behind us leading into the room.

"But- ugh you never told me what is in there!" He locks the door.

"Another time. I promise." I pout but begrudgingly walk down the staircase. Hand in hand. I didn't get all the answers I wanted, but at least I got a few.

We walk into the living room, at some point our hands fell apart before we got through the door. I look around. Elijah is sitting on the couch Hayley by his side. Finn stands by a smashed plate.

"You know brother, you can't throw things at me just because I annoy you."

Elijah sighs.

"Brother if you have a problem with me throwing stuff at you then I suggest you stop annoying me." Hayley grins, I find myself doing the same.
