KLAUS' P.O.V

"What is it Klaus?"

"Stefaan!... you've been ignoring me."

"Listen Klaus, the only reason why I haven't blocked your number is because I'm curious."

"Well you see, you have a certain friend that my family and I need to contact, except she happens to be ignoring my calls."

"Hmph I wonder why?" I hear muffled voices in the background and then silence.

"Wait...she!?"

"Damon! How pleasant it is to hear your voice again!"

"I'd say the same except it's not." Always the sarcastic one.

"She Klaus? Who's she?" Stefan again.

"Well I was about to tell you when your brother rudely interruppted our conver-" I hear the phone being yanked away from Stefan.

"Cut the crap Klaus, who's she?" I can hear Damons panicked breathe on the other side. "Is it Elena?"

"Is it Caroline?" I huff. "Bonnie?"

"Older." The silence stretches.

"Katherine." I hear Stefan sigh.

"What do you want with her Klaus?"

"Ah Damon, you do care for her still don't you." I pause. "However I thought it was Elena that has captured your heart?" I can tell I am getting on his nerves. He is quiet then,

"Don't mistake me asking what you want for caring Klaus." He pauses. "If all you want is to goad us then I think I'll hang up now."

"Now let's not be hasty..." silence. "Damon? Stefan?" I look at my phone screen, it reads disconnected. "The bastards." I mutter.

"Klaus, what's wrong?" Camille is smiling, leaning on the doorframe. I can tell she's putting on a brave face. It troubles me that she feels she has to infront of me. I sigh and sit on my bed. She walks towards me hesitantly asthough looking for my permission. I smile to let her know its alright. She perches on the edge of my duvet and folds up her legs. Unspoken words are transferred between us. I can tell she is looking for someone to talk to.

"Camille, you know you can confide in me?" She nods slightly. But doesn't look my way. "You don't have to put on a brave face, not around me." She stares at me. Her eyes look tired and red. Like she's been crying. I touch her face with my hand lightly and she leans into it. Pressing her cheek into my palm. She sighs and turns her face to look at me again.

"Thank you." She moves her head off my hand and wipes her eyes. She was crying. "Now! What's wrong?"

"The Salvatore brothers weren't as compliant as we would like." She squints her eyes at me.

"Were you nice?" I pause...

"Well..." Her eyes widen.

"I KNEW IT, oh my god klaus." She chuckles softly. "You're so bloody predictable. You couldn't play nice for one conversation!" She rakes her hands through her hair and shakes her head.

"I can't help it, we have alot of history. Banter and arguments are part of the friendship."

"Friendship?" She raises her eyebrows.

"Yes. Friendship. I'll have you know Stefan and I were best of friends once upon a time. And Damon and I share some interests."

"What? Doppelgängers?" I smile. My phone buzzes we both look at it vibrating on the bed. I turn it over.

"Speak of the devils." I put the phone on speaker. "Stefan! To what do I the pleasure?" Camille rolls her eyes and smiles.

"Damon and I think it's better if we talk face to face. No funny business, meet us at Whitmore college. 7 o-clock  Thursday night." The call disconnects.

"Well then." I raise my eyebrows and Camille grins.
