It begins off slow, the tingling. Davina's encantations ringing through the air. I am lying on the ground, a circle drawn around me. Klaus watches from the rim, not wanting to interfere. The tingling slowly travels up my legs getting more painful. "Ah!" Davina stops chanting and the sensation goes away.
"What is it Cami?"
"It hurts, when you chant. Like pins and needles only much worse." She looks to Klaus and then back to me.
"I think I am interrupting your Nervous system. Further pain could cause paralysis." Klaus sighs.
"Is there anything else you can do?!" Davina shakes her head.
"There are other spells I could try, but with her current condition..." Klaus nods his head and breaks the circle. He reaches down and lifts me up.
"How do we stop the bleeding then?" Davina looks to me and then to Klaus.
"I don't think you can. A hole that big can not be sewn up." She sighs. "I would take some of her blood, send it to the hospital and get them to run some tests. Then you could atleast maybe see what kind of poison it is." Klaus frowns.
"Poison, it was an arrow wound?"
"Yes but the arrowhead was removed, so whatever it was, it had to leave a trace. Unless it was a metalic residue which wou-"
"They didn't take out the arrowhead." Davina and I widen our eyes.
"What?!"
"They couldn't find it, they assumed it had gone right through her and fallen off." Davina narrows her eyes.
"What do you mean they?"
"Freya and Hayley, Elijah and I were...unavailable." Davina beckons for more information. "We were unconcious, the arrows that hit us put us in a coma for a few days. We were dead." I look at him.
"You never told me that?" He looks down at me and smiles.
"Well you haven't been in the best condition love." Davina starts pacing around the room.
"Okay so let me get this straight." She stops walking and looks at us both. "The night of the dinner party. Both Elijah and yourself were hit by arrows by an anonymous marksmen. Those arrows killed you for days. But you woke up fine? With no side affects?" Klaus nods his head shortly. "But Cami was hit by those same arrows and was also knocked out, obviously she didn't die. But now she has a hole growing insife her stomach."
"That about sums it up." She raises her eyebrows and sits down.
"You must know more, have some sort of inclinations about who struck you?" Klaus sighs.
"We do. Infact we know who it was."
"Who was it?" I look up at Klaus.
"Yes Klaus, who was it." He looks down at me and sighs.
"There was a vampire clan and back in the 1500'ms they went by the name of 'Sanguinem Hominis' my family and I interrupted a ceremony of theirs."
"Sanguinem Hominis...blood of man?" Davina translates. "What exactly did you interruppt Klaus?!" He breathes out a shaky breathe.
"Elijah and I thought it would be fun to ruin their blood ritual. We massaccred their pack and took their hostages. We later found that one of the killed was their leader. They seem to have held a grudge." I roll my eyes, of course this is to do with him.
"How serious is this gang?"
"They were experts in weaponary and poisons, but that was in the 1500's, I can only imagine they have extended their skills." He pauses. "We suspect their attack was not a random one. They targeted Vampire sympathisers and vampires. Not unlike our brother Finn." I adjust myself to get into a better position.
"Have you tried tracking them down?"
"Of course, but they are untrackable." Davina sighs, and brings her hands together under her chin.
"I still think send some samples to the hospital. If we find out the poison we may be able to create a antidote."
"And if we can't find it?"
"Then...then I guess we will have to find another way." As soon as she finishes speaking I lurch forward. Coughs wretching through my body. Klaus pulls me closer to him. Holding me tightly against his chest.
"We'll get through this, love." My body trembling. I whimper in his arms.
