Everything Has Changed

Chapter 3

Jason was slashing through monsters left and right. Lightning flashed all around him, destroying any monster it came into contact with, but leaving the demigods unscathed. He sliced through one last Cyclopes and was looking around for another creature to send back to Tartarus when he realized that almost everything was calm. A few battles still raged on, but other than those all the monsters were gone. Gaea had been defeated. He realized that these were only the forces she'd gathered before she'd been forced back to sleep. They'd done it. They had really won.

He ran to Reyna. She had a confused look on her face, like she didn't really know what was going on. "Reyna, we did it!" He yelled, rushing forward to hug her. Just as he was about to reach her she took her arm away from her stomach and looked down. Her expression went from confusion to fear. Her hand was covered in blood, and as soon as she moved it away, the blood began to spread. She looked at Jason with glassy eyes. "Help.." She whispered, as she fell to her knees.
