The Lost Souls

"Guys??"
Ethan spoke for the second time and everyone turned their attention towards him.

"Who the hell bought a boat over here?" he asked disbelieved.

*continued

"What? That's impossible!" Vedha said as she she got up from her place.

"Holy shit!! Its an actual boat..... This is soo awesome!" Evan squealed.

Everyone got up from their places and started heading towards the boat. It was suprising, how could there be a boat in such place? Nobody's there except these people. No one's visited this place from 2 years, atleast that's what they know.

"Anyone ready for a boat ride?" Krish questioned .

"No, we shouldn't do something that's this much crazy. I mean we could do something normal crazy." Vedha retorted.

"Soo...
Who's up for a boat ride?" Krish asked again by completely avoiding what Vedha just said.

"I am." "Me too"
"Yup,lets go" everyone said happily.

Evan jumped in the boat from the dock. "Its safe, lets go guys!" he said.

Everyone started sitting in the boat. But something was bugging Vedha.
"You sure we will be safe?" Vedha asked.

"It will be alright babe. Don't stress so much. I know what you're thinking. But lets have some fun. Please." Ria pouted.

Vedha smiled but still, she was not sure if she should join them or not.

"Hey, don't be scared. Everyone's with you, we will stay with you. Anyways its just a small ride and I'm sure that most of us are very good at boating.
And I promise I will stay with you no matter what. I'll protect you and bring you back here safe." Sumedh assured her.
"Okay?" Sumedh asked.

"Okay." Vedha replied.

"Ohkayy!!" Sidd shouted from back.
"Don't waste time." he said.

And saying so, he got in the boat followed by Vedha and Sumedh.
Vedha turned back one last time and she saw something move. She squinted her eyes and she again saw something move and the board which was laying there fell. Everyone turned their heads back to see where that sound came from.
"Did you see that?" she asked.

"Yeah. Must be something. Forget about it." Sumedh said.

"Something or someone?" Vedha thought.

Suddenly the boat started moving forward. It was surprising how it actually move on its own.
Aditya and Ethan picked up 2 broken oars and started doing their oarsmanship job. Everyone clicked selfies had a few jokes and were enjoying the ride.

Everything was normal. But now they were far from where they begin. Someone had suggested to go back but nobody listened. It was pretty dark but moonlight and their torches somewhat helped them.
Everyone was feeling so happy and peaceful. Never had they heard sound of river and insects around them. The air was soo pure it was like they had never breathed oxygen. Gleaming faces and happy souls!

"Anyone hear that?" Ananya asked.

"Yeah, it sounds like water...like..." Shanaya pondered.

"You sure? I mean we're boating and how could we hear 'sounds of water'?" Vedha said sarcastically.

"No no...she's right. I can hear it too." Sumedh said.

Everyone was now intently trying to hear what sound it actually was. It was true. Sound of water was getting more and more loud.

"Guys! The current of river has changed and....and.....we're moving fast too."

"What does that mean?" Ria asked.

"I think there's a waterfall ahead." Sidd said calmly.

"What the hell?! Please tell me that he's lying." Vedha said in a worried tone.

"Oh my god... Oh my god.... Oh my god!! There is an actual waterfall!" Evan screamed.

"What the actual f*ck!" Sumedh screamed.

"Everyone jump!" Sidd yelled.

"NOO!!" everyone said together.

"We're gonna die! I'm gonna die!" Sapna started crying.

"I don't about you guys but there's no way I wanna die now." Vedha said.

"Stop being soo selfish, we're all gonna die!" Sapna snapped.

"Shut up. No one's dying. Just hold on to something." Sidd yelled.

"Really? Is that gonna save us?" Krish asked.

"Are you guys even sure that there's a waterfall ahead?" Evan asked.

"WHY THE HELL AM I SURROUNDED BY MIND- NUMBINGLY STUPID PEOPLE WHEN I'M GONNA DIE??!" Vedha screamed on top of her lungs.

"Guys...... We're gonna fall!" Ethan alerted.

The boat started to move in circles, finally falling down a high waterfall!
