Alfred walked downstairs and sat at the table. It was pretty early, the time was 5:56AM. But he always was a morning person.
And so were some members of his family.
As he headed downstairs he heard Venezuela, Canada, Suriname, Guyana, Maria, and Ecuador talking.
"Morning guys," He smiled at them, they greeted him back as he went to sit on the couch. "How's the back, Mar?'
"I'm pretty sure I can walk fine but this one," She pointed at Venezuela, "Is mother henning me and making sure that I stay in the wheelchair," She pouted, "It's still sore, that all."
"And that exactly why you should stay in the wheelchair and give it more time to heal," Venezuela lectured her.
Maria was about to respond when they heard a bang from upstairs. Than there was some sort of dragging sound? And soon after that, they heard something roll down the stairs.
"Morning Tina," Everyone called out.
An extremely tired Argentina walked into the kitchen and straight to the fridge. He grabbed a bottle of orange juice, opened it, and was about to drink it straight from the bottle. Until Venezuela whacked him on the head and poured him a glass.
Argentina gulped down the glass and finally fully opened his eyes. He had finally completely woke up. "Morning guys," He smiled. The day didn't start till he had a glass of orange, apple juice, or even grape juice.
"Where's your shirt?" Maria asked.
He flexed his muscles and went to sit on the couch, "No meeting for me today so no point in getting dressed."
"He has a point," Ecuador agreed.
Venezuela rolled her eyes, "Right."
Alfred winced at the thought of a meeting. While his cousins and younger siblings didn't have to attend a meeting. He and Canada did.
NATO.
He tried not to have a panic attack just at the thought of it. He would have to deal with England, France, and Spain again. Prussia wasn't a fan of his either but those three were the main ones.
And than there were the nations who always liked to sneak in a few insults.
Canada was watching his brother closely. He saw the look in Alfred's eye when Argentina brought up meetings. America hadn't had a meeting on the 19th or 20th and he knew deep down his brother was dreading today.
"Al," He said softly, "You don't have to go."
Everyone turned to look at him. Argentina nodded, "Yeah, you can stay here with the Southern Folk of the family."
America gave a small smile, "I'll go."
"But the second you want to leave, you tell Matthew," A voice said, they looked to see a shirtless Brazil enter. He kept his eyes on Alfred, "Okay?" He asked gently.
"Yeah," Alfred nodded.
Brazil gave a slight nod, "Good," He faced everyone, "Papa said he'll be able to come tomorrow evening and is fine with anything we want to do. Any suggestions?"
"Eat!!!' Argentina cheered.
"Okay, going out to a restaurant," Brazil noted.
"I meant as in breakfast since I'm pretty hungry but ok," Argentina replied as he got up to head for the kitchen.
"I guess after, we can play futbol on a beach or field or something," Maria shrugged.
"You're not playing," Venezuela immediately said, thinking about Maria's back.
"Okay Mom," She said sarcastically.
"Ah, Al we should start to eat. Time's gonna fly, you know?"
"Yeah... I'm not really hungry Mattie."
It became silent. Alfred started to feel a bit uncomfortable. He really didn't want to be forced to eat.
Again.
It had been hard getting him to eat all week. Sometimes he did and when he did that, it was only small bites.
"I'll give you a muffin," Canada simply said, he took one from a stand on the counter and walked over to America.
He hesitantly took it. It looked so sweet.
"Al, please?' Ecuador asked. They were taking this little by little with him. All the knifes and sharp objects were being monitored and when America needed one, he would have to ask for it.
America looked at their faces, from Ecuador to Brazil to Canada to Suriname to Maria.
Maria, the look on her face. She really wanted him to do this. They really wanted him to do this.
And he really didn't want to disappoint, not after everything he put them through the past few months.
Well, he was an actual disappointment. But that's not the point?
Giving a little sigh, he took a little bite.
Hey, that was pretty good. Maybe another wouldn't hurt.
He took another small bite and kept eating the muffin. He wanted to do this for them.
For his family.
Plus, he barely had eaten much during the past few months. It was nice to have something sweet after awhile.
Before he knew it, he was done.
The look on their faces were priceless.
You know what? That really wasn't so bad. Maybe he actually could do this.
