"I'm so sorry." Glenn cried weakly, leaving Mary and Henry, side by side, then he grabbed another tube. As Mary choked on her own blood, Glenn forced the tube down her throat, Mary fighting him. Once it was done, she stayed still for a few seconds, then Glenn clenched his fists.
"I'm so sorry." He whispered, repeating himself. Then he took the bag away from Henry, and attached it to Mary's tube, allowing it to breathe for the five year old.
When he felt that Henry's pulse had gone, he stabbed the man's head, tears falling down his face.

When Mary woke up, Rick was sat by her side, stroking her hair.
"Daddy?" She whispered weakly.
"It's okay. It's okay, it's over now. It's over."
"Is Uncle Daryl back? With the medicine?" She asked softly.
"Yeah, he got back last night. See? This tiny tiny needle in your arm is making you all better."
"I feel lots better. But still sick."
"Hey, at one of the houses, I found this pretty dress. You wanna get cleaned up and wear it?"
"Yeah." Mary nodded groggily, falling back to sleep.
"Hey. Hershel said I needed to talk to you." Daryl said suddenly, walking over.
"Yeah. Yeah. One minute." Rick nodded, not wanting to leave Mary's side. He never wanted to leave her again.
"It's fine. I'll talk to Maggie about it." He said softly. "Spend some time with your little girl."
"Thanks man. Thanks." Rick nodded in appreciation, stroking Mary's hand.
"As long as she gets better," Daryl smiled, "that's all that matters."
Rick nodded slowly, and Daryl went to leave, then stopped, and grinned at them. "I told you she'd be fine. Nothing's gonna kill that kid. Nothing."
"You must be rubbing off on her." Rick smiled back at him, then laid beside Mary, holding her tightly. Mary woke up after another ten minutes, and Rick smiled at her, sitting up.
"Thirsty." She whispered, and Rick nodded, getting her a cup of water.
"Carl's gonna be so happy to see you. He's just showering. Me and him and Maggie had to fight off a lotta walkers last night. I came up to see you, because there was a gunshot. Glenn was choking and dying, so Lizzie helped you breathe while I saved him. Then I had to go back and help Maggie once it was safe."
"Thank you." She smiled.
"Here, shall we get you changed?" Rick asked, as she was just in one of his shirts. Mary nodded, and Rick washed her down as she stood up, took out her IV, then dressed her in the little yellow dress he found, and stroked her head, still in the cornrows Michonne had done.
"Look what I found you." Ruck smiled, passing her her bunny teddy.
"Carl Bunny." She grinned.
Suddenly, there was a explosion so loud and powerful the prison shook.
"Daddy?!" Mary panicked, her dark eyes fearful.
"It's okay. You stay here. Okay?! Here!" Rick said firmly.
"Okay." She whispered, beginning to cry.
"No matter what it is, I'll be back. Okay? I love you."
Mary nodded slowly, and got up, walking barefoot next to Rick. "I'll go to Glenn." She mumbled, stumbling over to Glenn's bunk, her teddy still in her hand.
"I love you." Rick repeated, kissing her forehead, then running, as Mary repeated his words back at him.
"Moo? Come on. Come here. It's okay." Glenn soothed, and Mary crawled next to him. "It's okay. We're gonna be safe. We're gonna be okay."
"Did you save me? I remember the blood all coming out of my mouth. You saved me."
"Yeah," Glenn whispered, his voice haunted, "I did."
"Thank you." Mary smiled softly. "I'm better now."
"Good. Just a bit more rest, and you'll be okay." Glenn nodded slowly.
Mary closed her eyes, and laid in silence for a few minutes. "Did Mr Henry die?" She asked suddenly, her voice quiet.
Glenn's hand was shaking. "Yeah. He did."
"Oh." Mary mumbled slowly, sighing, then jerked upright when she heard the screams and gunshots from outside.
"Stay here." Glenn said, his voice filled with panic.
"Daddy." She whispered fearfully. She got up, grabbing her bunny teddy, and running away.
"Mary!" Glenn shouted, "Get back! It's dangerous!"
"I'm not scared! Not of anything!" She replied, her voice weak but still strong.
"Mary Grimes. I swear to God! Get back here!" Glenn shouted, his IV still in his hand, trying to get up, but feeling dizzy as he did so.
"I'm sorry. I gotta help." She said shakily, before running outside. She saw the cars driving through their gates. A tank. Parts of the prison being blown up. Walkers coming over.
"Daddy!" She screamed, "Daddy!? Carl! Carl! Judith! Uncle Daryl!?"
There was more Walkers. So many, so close. Then she saw one of her best friends. She saw Tommy.
"Mary!" He screamed, "Mary! Mommy is hurt! Help me!"
Mary nodded, and stumbled over, still weak. She looked down at Tommy's mother, shot through the head. "She's dead, Tommy. She's with my mommy."
"No!" Tommy sobbed.
"Yes. Tommy, we have to go. I'm your family now. Okay? We're family."
"Mary, I'm scared." Tommy cried, looking up at the brave little girl.
"That's okay. I'm not. I'm Mary Grimes and I'm not scared." Mary recited, holding out her hand to Tommy.
"I can't fight. I'm scared!"
"I'll protect you. Come on!" Mary promised, helping him up. "We just gotta find daddy."
Tommy got up, holding Mary's hand tightly. "Tommy, we have to run. There's Walkers close!"
But it was too late. Tommy didn't run. A Walker bit a chunk of shoulder off. Mary's eyes went wide, but she didn't have any weapons. She couldn't help him.
"I'm so sorry." Mary sobbed, as Tommy screamed, the Walker devouring him. "You're my best friend. I love you."
Then she ran. She kept running for a while, tears streaming down her face, until she found Judith. "It's okay Judith. We're gonna be okay. Daddy! Carl! Uncle Daryl! Maggie!" Mary screamed, feeling dizzy suddenly. The tank was close to her.
"Mary!?" A familiar voice screamed. Daryl. But she couldn't see him. Suddenly, a shot rang out, and Mary was flung backwards, blood and her hat and her teddy falling onto the floor.
"Oh God." Tyreese whispered shakily.
"Is that Mary?" Mika breathed, grabbing Judith.
Tyreese nodded, and picked Mary's limp body up, her blood everywhere, then laid her behind a car.
"Don't let her come back. You need to shoot her." Mika hissed. Tyreese nodded slowly, then more gunshots rang out.
"Go. Go, now!" He shouted to the two little girls, running before they could get hurt.

He accidentally left Mary's head bullet free.

"Carl! Carl! CARL!" Rick screamed, trying to find his son, thinking Mary was inside with Glenn. Suddenly, two Walkers were shot dead, and Carl ran to Rick, hugging him tightly as he sobbed.
"Your sisters. Mary. Judith. Where are they?" He asked, in pain and fearful.
"I don't know." Carl whispered, helping his father walk, looking for the two girls. Then Rick began to sob. There was Judith's empty car seat, filled with blood. Carl clamped his lips and mouth together, a few tears falling down his face, then in anger he grabbed his gun, and shot the same Walker until his ammo ran out.
"Carl. Carl!" Rick shouted, grabbing the angry and broken little boy in a strong hug. Carl began to sob, then let himself fall to the floor, Rick holding him.
"We g-g-got-gotta f-find M-Mary." Carl sobbed, getting up and wiping his tears harshly. "That's her bunny. My hat."
"Yeah," Rick cried, "yeah. Yeah. Mary! MARY!"
Carl looked around, seeing all the Walkers around them. Then he dropped his gun. Fell after it. And his heart shattered into a million pieces.
"Dad." Carl whispered shakily. Judith gone was killing him. Then he saw this as well.
"What?" Rick asked through his sobs.
Carl's moth opened slowly, hardly able to form the horrific three words "I found Mary."
Rick span around, and stumbled down to the floor by Carl when he saw what Carl was pointing to. Amongst some Walkers who were wondering away, there was a child. A girl.
A girl in a yellow dress and long brown braided hair and a pair of cowboy boots.
A walker.
