(Zara's P.o.v)
i got home from school walking through the door with a bright smile on my face. I really cant believe Patrick asked me out on a date and got excited about it. Nobody has ever gotten excited about me, except for Christmas morning when Max found out what i got him but pretended he didn't and got excited.
i got him the new pokemon.
speaking of Max here he came walking down the stairs with a smug smile on his face. He stood silently at the bottom of the stairs still with a smug smile on his face.
"What?" i asked Max dropping my bag where the jackets hung.
"Oh why don't you walk into the kitchen." Max laughed looking into the kitchen. Being the curious teenager i walked into the kitchen passing by Max pushing him into the Bannisters.
when i walked into the kitchen i was faced with my grandfather drinking champagne at what 3:00? The mans gone mad.
"GrandDad? Drinking at 3pm huh?" i chuckled to him. He smiled and rolled his eyes, i always had a very warm feeling everytime he smiled, like i was at home.
"Believe me Zara, I'm not agreeing with this. Your mother has made an announcement and now she forced me to drink," He explained pissed off completely and i don't blame him,"Find your mother. She has something to say to you."
I Looked around to see a few people around, Alot of my family actually and I'm guessing some neighbours?
"Zara!" My mother smiled across the room, Joe following behind and two other older Adults walking behind them. "There you are, i thought school was over at 2:30pm?"
"Yes but it takes me a half an hour to get home because someone wont pick me up. The bus is usually late." i said sarcastically looking my mother up and down who was in a cocktail dress. "A little overdressed aren't we?"
"Hah, Hey Zara." Joe said awkwardly waving his arms slightly, Joe actually isn't a bad guy but its just fun to torture him plus my moms expressions are funny.
"Joseph," i smiled and turned my mom. "I thought we had a no dogs policy."
"Zara Blantley," My mother said putting on a fake smile,"Trust you to make a joke." he said faking a laugh causing the two people behind her to laugh.
"Excuse me? I don't think we've met." i said to the two behind my mother,"Let me guess another set of Trohmans."
If my mothers looks could kill well i'd be 6ft under. Joe chuckled nervously running a hand through his now short afro. Today he is wearing glasses hopefully he can see right down into my mothers soul and see how coward and heartless she is.
"Wrong."
Patrick not now.
"sorry."
"Correct," Joe said. "Another set of us." Joe said quietly looking to the ground, being honest i actually like Joe alot, i prefer him more than my dad. Its like he actually see's the value in me as a daughter also as an adult.
i looked up at Joe and looked right into his eyes and saw a glint in his eyes, eyes that showed me that he makes me feel very comfortable and I'm happy that he's here.
But actually his eyes are saying 'Please stop!'
"Well then, I've been dying to meet you all since Joes kept you guys hidden away." i smiled hugging Joes mom, i heard Joe sigh in relief and laugh at little. I moved onto his dad, They're a lovely bunch.
"I know!" Joes mother said letting go of hugging my mother. "He's been hiding you two, I've been dying to meet you for ages now. Joe has said alot about you."
"Hah, good or bad?" i chuckled causing Joe to laugh aswell.
"Good of course, the man idolises you next to you mother obviously then next to me." she joked.
Joes idolises me?
Joe.
really?
i looked up at Joe and see him turn away and look out the window,"I'm gonna get a drink." Joe said about to walk off.
"Ill go with you." i said smiling,"If you'd excuse me."
Me and Joe got to the table,"so you idolise me?"
"well um--" i cut Joe off by giving him a huge hug, i mean i think I'm actually losing my tough side. I'm becoming soft.
"No one, not even my father has ever idolised me or treated me like you do. You put up with my shit i give to you. Joe I'm sorry for being a bitch." i apologise still hugging Joe for the longest time ever, finally Joe wraps his arms around me and i feel his smile on the top of my head. "Your the best.."i whispered.
"Zara, stop your not a bitch. Your bitchiness is what keeps me young." he laughed still hugging me, of course i wasn't going to let go, my father never really hugged me that much although he would rub my hair or kiss my forehead but he's never idolised me, or even told me he loved me.
"Thanks Joe, I Love you." i say pushing back and looking at his shocked face.
"I.." he stutters more confused, probably confused by my attitude change, well i hope. "I love you too Zarz." he smiles pulling me into a hug.
"Zara, Joe." my mom says dragging Joes parents over,"I'm sorry for ruining this lovely moment, But um well can i speak to Zara and Joe alone?" my mother turns to Joes mother and father who nod and walk off.
"Zara," my mother says turning around to me,"Wearing band t-shirts is going to make you attractive to any of the young men in the room." she states.
my jaw dropped. I cant believe my own mother has said this to me. I basically heard Joes jaw job by the noise of it crack silently.
"i take back everything earlier where i said you were wrong about your mom, your moms a bitch." Patrick said appearing next to me.
agreed.
"um Julia," Joe says quietly so that no one can hear us,"Why are you acting like this?"
me? My mouth is still on the floor.
"Like what? I want my daughter to look the best,"She said looking me up and down. "Right now, she looks like a teenage poor boy."
i say nothing i just storm off out of the room and up the stairs.
i hate her, i hate her i hate her!!
"Zara." Patrick says walking into the room, "You Alright?"
i just look at him.
"No, no I'm not."
