Julias p.o v (ayyeeee its Zaras mom yay! New p.o.v lets dance.)
"i don't know Joe, Me and Zara aren't as close as we used to." i explained to Joe over our lovely steak dinner in a steak house near our hometown, it truly is beautiful and delicious, plus Joe got a haircut and may i say he looks hot.
"well have you thought maybe she's been under alot of stress, i mean it is her last year of school and she's probably doing non-stop work on her finals." Joe replied giving me a reassuring smile,i nodded and thought about it for a second. Zara never usually fusses over exams though,shes a natural when it comes to these things.
"i don't think so, her mood has changed, she doesn't tease or annoy max anymore, shes cut off all contact with me, she never talks. She locks herself in her bedroom all day and nearly ever speaks or make eye contact at dinner, I'm starting to worry Joe, yesterday she came in from school with tears streaking down her face," i said pushing the food on my plate, Joe furrowed his eyebrows and nodded. "And when i asked her, she replied with 'its my hay fever.' Joe I'm scared."
"Look, to me it sounds like shes depressed, have you tried a therapist or counselling?" Joe asked, raising an eyebrow.
To be honest, it never crossed me. Maybe he's right, maybe she is depressed or even stressed from exams, ill ask but in quite sure i wont get an answer or even a straight forward answer, it'll probably end with her screaming she hates me and leaving to go to my fathers house.
"I've also noticed that shes took quite of an unliking to me?, have i annoyed her?" he asked me, he's so right Zara dislikes him. Only if she could see how caring and Amazing he is.
"Yeah, well... Its hard to explain, ever since my ex-husband and i split apart Zara has had problems with trust and expressing her feelings and when new meat is introduced to the family Zara instantly hates it and shuts everyone out,"i explained Joe nodded, i love how understanding he is and never gets offended. He just understands me so much. I hope zara gives him a chance soon because he'll help her so much..
"sounds like someone i know," Joe said looking down on a piece of the napkin he was using, his eyes looked sad, but my curiosity got the better of me and..
"who?" i asked, wishing i didn't because this might be a topic he wants to ignore, "sorry... Sorry you don't have t--"
"no, no its fine," he smiled but looked down again, " umm one of my old best friends Pete, he was just like her attitude and everything. God they even dress the same.. H-he was also very depressed at one point in his life.."
"oh,right. Well where is he?" i asked,maybe he can help Zara with her mood, he might give her advice on how to change it.
"he uhhh he passed away 6 years ago." Joe choked, i looked up to see him holding back the tears tightly trying his best not to cry.
"Joe, I'm so so sorry," i said , he looked up at me and smiled and shook his head.
"its not your fault, you didn't know. But thank you." he said quietly, my heart sank for him.
"no problem Joe, ill always be here for you,"
"Thanks Julia."
