Time at Hogwarts always seemed to pass in a blur, and this year was not different. Between classes, homework and spending time with her friends, Isabelle had not even realised when they had spent almost two months in the school.

One morning, the blonde woke up only to realise that it was Halloween. What made the occasion even better was that this year, Halloween was on a Sunday, and that meant that they did not have any classes to attend.

Isabelle had woken up early as usual and had gotten to the Hufflepuff common room. She had decided to sit on an armchair as she waited for one of her friends to join her. However, for the last hour or so, she had yet to see one of her friends.

The woman was about to leave the common room and go to the Great Hall in case she met up with Rose or Scorpius and Albus, when she caught sight of Hailey descending the stairs. Immediately, a small smile appeared on her lips.

"Good morning!"

The brunette looked up at the sound of her voice and located her on an armchair. Her lips curved upwards in a smile and her eyes twinkled as she looked at her friend.

"Good morning, Isabelle," she said as she got closer. "Did you sleep well?"

She nodded. "I did. Is Cassidy awake by any chance?"

"I am afraid that she is not," she shook her head. "She could not sleep last night."

Isabelle's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "How do you know that?"

"You know I am a light sleeper," the brunette shrugged, "I could hear her tossing in her bed."

"That makes sense," she nodded. "Poor Cassidy."

"Poor Cassidy indeed," Hailey smiled. "Have you seen Bernard?"

"I think that he is still sleeping."

"Perfect," the woman grinned. "I am going to wake him up."

"Well," Isabelle frowned slightly as she stood up. "I am going to the Great Hall."

Hailey started ascending the stairs to the boys' dormitories. "I'll see you there, Belle!"

The blonde left the Hufflepuff basement and headed to the Great Hall. She wanted to find some of her friends, as she did actually enjoy their company. At that point, even a joke from Albus would be welcome.

It did not take her long to reach the Great Hall. As she got inside, she immediately examined the tables, only to see that Rose was not in the room, but Scorpius and Albus were. To her displeasure, she noticed that Effie was just next to them, and next to her, was Melissa.

Not wishing to be close to Effie or Melissa, she started walking to the Hufflepuff table, but it seemed like her presence in the room had not passed unnoticed. Seconds later, she heard Scorpius calling her name.

Having no other option, she turned to the Slytherin table and sent a smile at her blond friend and then at Albus. Somewhat reluctantly, she walked to the table of green and silver and sat down next to the only person in the school that knew her secret.

"Good morning," she mumbled as she looked up at Scorpius and then at Albus opposite her.

"Isabelle, what a nice surprise," Effie smiled as she looked at her, momentarily ignoring Melissa. "And I was wondering when I would see you again."

The blonde's eyebrows furrowed in confusion. "You were?"

"Why wouldn't she?" Scorpius smirked. "Once they see you, one cannot get you out of their minds."

"That was worse than my jokes," Albus rolled his eyes as Isabelle blushed.

"At last," Effie chuckled, "he realises that his jokes are terrible!"
