Despite all the good things she had heard from Scorpius over the years about his father, a part of Isabelle feared that he wasn't going to let her sleep in the Manor. There was still some doubt in her mind as she thought that he wouldn't like to have his son's girlfriend sleeping under the same roof as them so that nothing inappropriate happened. Truthfully, it hadn't been her intention to do something like that with Scorpius that day, as if she were to be honest, she was feeling shy just at the thought of it. However, there was still a chance that the possibility had crossed the mind of Scorpius's father.
The fact that there had been some days that Scorpius had sent the letter to ask for permission and there was still no reply didn't help the situation either. She couldn't help but think that perhaps he was thinking it over, weighing the benefits and setbacks of the situation before deciding. A part of her didn't want to know if there were more benefits or setbacks when it came to this.
It was Saturday morning, the last weekend before the holidays began and Scorpius had sent the letter to his father two days ago. Today was also the last Hogsmeade weekend before the holidays and Isabelle and Scorpius had decided to meet at the carriages and head to the village from there together. She could only hope that he had an answer from his father when she reached him.
"You shouldn't be so nervous, Isabelle," Cassidy spoke up, shaking her out her thoughts momentarily.
Isabelle looked away from her reflection as she kept brushing her hair and instead met her friend's eyes through the mirror. "Nervous for what exactly?"
"I understand you are nervous about his father's reply, after all, there's no chance you would be nervous about your date. It's not something you haven't done before. Meeting his father, on the other hand, is something completely new to you."
"I don't want him to disagree with mum's suggestion because I really don't know what that will mean for Scorpius and I," she mumbled as she started braiding half of her hair, specifically the hair located on the left side of her head.
"Isabelle, you are going to meet his father anyway, that has already been decided. Whether you sleep under the same roof as them is something completely irrelevant and it shouldn't mean so much to you. Unless you want to sleep in the Manor because you have some other motive?"
"No," she shook her head with wide eyes, "No, definitely not. Not yet at least."
"Why not?" she asked softly, a small smile forming on her lips as she watched her. "I mean, I know why I wouldn't want something like this to happen to me, but how come you don't want it too?"
"I just don't feel ready," she murmured as she finished braiding that braid and moved on to the next. "I can't help but think that I'll feel shy if anything of the sort happens and I don't want to ruin something like that - anyway, let's just change the topic of the conversation please."
"You really can't ruin something like that, Belle, I know I don't have experience but trust me, it would be impossible to ruin it," she smiled a bit wider than before as she shook her head. "I also have no issue changing the topic, after all, it's not one I'm accustomed with either. What I meant to say earlier is that whatever Scorpius's father says it won't affect your relationship with him. It's just a night. If he trusts his son he will have no issue with you sleeping over to the Manor."
"I think he does trust him," she admitted as she finished with her braid. "How do you like my braids?"
"You wear your hair like that almost every single day, Isabelle, it's perfect like every other time."
She sent her a smile through the mirror. "Thank you."
She finally left the mirror and started walking around the room in search of her wand. Cassidy watched her as she looked around until she found it and put it in the pocket of her robes.
