What Can Be Beautiful?

What can be beautiful?

Is it destruction?

The dance of shattered glass

Now scattered in darkness

What can be beautiful?

For when the light shines upon the shards

A fractured rainbow is shown

Created by the sharp edges of the broken

What can be beautiful?

Maybe the mosaic created

The strength to pick up the pieces

And to fill in the pane

What can be beautiful?

Is it the blood that drips

When your courage pays off

The destruction is now fixed

What can be beautiful?

Maybe when the light shines through

When the glass, even in shards

Shines a picture as a whole

What can be beautiful?

The old?

The new?

The true?

"In the eyes of the beholder"

Is that you

What can be beautiful?

If only I knew

Beauty is a conundrum

A maze you cannot walk through

Beauty is a strength

An incomprehensible magic

What can be beautiful?

A tongue of fire?

How destruction is born

Can be beautiful too

What can be beautiful?

Me? Maybe you?

Everything is beautiful

Don't you see it too?

I can't tell you how I got this idea, but I can explain the stanzas to those who don't get my weird symbolism. Although this takes out the beauty of the poem (no pun intended) I think you should understand the message than care about my poem.

The Beauty In Each Stanza:

1- Representing when a person shatters

2- Representing revelation in the broken

3- Representing the strength to fix yourself

4- Representing the hard work and pain that people go through to get there

5- Representation of one's fixed self

-Fire- Not when one shatters, but the thing that breaks them

What do you think is the most beautiful thing in the world?

My mother.
