i shouldn't look back

to who i was yesterday

but i always do

i'd never let you go

always by your side unknown

but you slipped away

here are some interpretations

1) never compare yourself to your past. 

    never look back. 

   look towards the future

2) kind of like a story of someone who loved another but never got the chance

    you can't be sad when you lose someone you love but never told them

    take the chance to tell a loved one how you feel
