*Delilah's pov*
"I know you girls know what your father has in mind for today, so why won't you tell me?" I grumbled as I fastened my earrings. All I got in reply was a few giggles, and even a few skin slaps as they placed their hands above their mouths. "I have wonderful daughters..."
"You love us mom, and you'll love it. Just trust us."
I rolled my eyes as I stepped into my heels. "I'll love you more if you tell me what it is."
"Nope. Not happening." Eveline chirped, giving her sisters an evil eye when they opened their mouths. "Just be patient for a few more minutes. It will be worth it."
"Sure. Whatever. Noah is my favorite now." I heard their gasps as I walked away, a smile gracing my lips. Maybe that would get them to tell me.
"Delilah!" I turned around to find Elliot running towards me, a white piece of paper in his hands. "Alex is running a bit late. He apologizes, but told me to give you this." He handed me the piece of paper, which I then realized was more of a card, and ran away before I could say anything.
"Oh...Kay?"
My love,
Today is the day we first saw you running down the sidewalk, heading straight to the patch of dandelions. I thank that plant -which has now become my favorite- every day for bringing me you. You were my own personal angel heading straight towards me, even if you didn't know it at the time.
My hand is at my throat as my heart starts to skip beats. Oh Alex... I thought.
I know our first and second encounters weren't the best, but I hope all of these years together have made up for it, even if it's the tiniest amount. If it has not, well don't worry love, as we have thousands more to make you fall in love with us again.
Since today marks a special day, I thought we should do something special as well.
Follow the path, my queen. I will be waiting for you at the end.
I looked up from the card and wiped away the single tear that leaked from my eyes. After fanning my face for a few seconds, making sure I didn't look like a raccoon who decided to crash a party, I began to look for Alex's said so path.
It didn't take me long to find it. At the end of the hallway, small, but bright petals caught my attention. There weren't a lot, but since the yellow popped out dramatically in the navy carpet, I saw them right away. I tenderly picked one up, and gave out a breathless chuckle as I realized they were sunflowers.
I picked up my speed, and practically sprinted out the door, surprised that I didn't bump into anything. It also surprised me that there was no wolf or vampire around, but I didn't dwell on that information. I could figure it out later on as soon as I got my answers on Alex's plans.
The smile on my face never wavered as the yellow petals began to thin out. I looked up, and sure enough, he was standing a good eight feet away, sporting a breathtaking smile. In his hands, he had a single dandelion, raised slightly towards me.
"Alex," I breathed and sprinted towards him. I threw myself into his hands, and buried my face into the jacket for a few seconds before I went up to my tiptoes to give him a kiss.
