Capitulo 9

Everyone reacted within seconds. With her speed and strength, Ali moved me feet away and planted herself in front of me, snarling and hissing at everyone. The guy who had lunged at us was being held back by William and Tom, and even then, they were having trouble handling him.

"Let.... me.... GO!" He roared, his eyes the brightest red I had ever seen on anyone. "She's MINE! How DARE you keep her from me!"

"Dimitri, calm down!" William yelled through all the hissing and fighting. "You are scaring her! She can't even hear you!"

That got him to calm down immediately. He looked at me with awe in his eyes, and I just shifted even closer to Ali.

"Are you sure she's your beloved?" Another male asked him, and all he got was a flash of fangs and a hiss. The guy looked down, and kept his gaze on the floor as he backed away.

"She has no scent though."

"Then you must have shït stuck up your nose because I can smell her perfectly fine." Dimitri took a deep breath, and shuddered slightly. "But she's being overpowered by her honeysuckle scent right now. Who is she anyways? I don't remember ever approving of her turn."

Tom took a step forward, but all he got was a big hiss from Ali. He looked torn, and a small whimper escaped from him, but he stood besides William, never keeping his eyes off of her.

"That's Alice Dimitri. She's alive."

Dimitri's eyes bulged wide open, and he stared at us in shock. "But she died. We have been looking for her for years and we never found her. You're telling me she's standing in front of me, alive, but as a vampire?" His eyes quickly shifted from both of us, and then his sharp intake of breath made everyone look at him as he shook his head. I could practically see the imaginary wheels in his brain turning faster as something clicked to him. "No... No..."

"What? What is it?"

Dimitri ignored Williams question, and looked straight at Ali. "Did Tatiana do all of this? Did she make her like this?"

I am so confused. Ali what's going on.

She didn't answer my thoughts, even though the connection was strong and fresh. The pit stop we had made a few hours ago was a perfect time for us to connect again, since the last one had been gone a few hours prior the bite. She just kept her back towards me, and stretched her left arm around so she could pull me closer to her.

Can I just speak? But use a different language they don't understand? Please! It's killing me not being able to voice my thoughts!

Another few seconds of silence, and then there was a single nod from her. I sighed in relief, and then spoke for the first time in days.

"Weiß er, wer wir sind?" (Does he know who we are?) I asked her in German. Hopefully no one knew this language.

Three sets of jaws dropped down to the floor as they stared at me as if I had just spoken Pig Latin. Even some eyes bulged out as Tom gasped. "I thought she couldn't speak! Can she hear too?"

"Ja," I snapped and he blinked multiple times.

"Zur Beantwortung Ihrer Frage, ja, weiß ich, wer du bist." (To answer your question, yes, I know who you are.)

My eyes widen in shock, and even Ali gasped when Dimitri replied to us, a small smile on his face.

"Wie?" I found myself replying to him. "Niemand weiß es!" (How? No one knows!)
