Chapter 10

I was sick to my stomach with the news Ava gave me. We we're only dating for 3 months and she was already pregnant. How in the hell am I going to explain this shit to Giselle? To Kasey even. I just knew I was in for it with this mess that was created. I should have been more careful but I was actually careless as fuck but being with Ava didn't matter. I got to keep this a secret for as long as I can. I'm not at all for abortions but I just might convince Ava to do so. I was under a lot of pressure right now because I fuck with Drew too.
I've been avoiding him since we had our huge argument that day about me leaving Giselle and he wasn't having it. It would seriously fuck up my reputation and crush Ava to hear her lover has been fucking her old guy. I don't know too much about Ava and Drew's relationship all I know is that she dated him back in the day and she finally just told me she was married to the guy and wanted my help with the divorce I agreed to help her, but I know for a 100% fact Drew is going to be pissed. He didn't talk about her at all that much , he didn't even tell me they we're married. He was very secretive with his past. I didn't even know it was her at the coffee shop that day until I took her out to dinner. I guess she had been in hiding from Drew.
Drew actually been staying here for months now and I don't think Ava knows he stays next door to her.
But anyway by then it was already too late for me I didn't care. I was feeling her and I wanted her.
Drew is going to flip when he finds out. Being that Ava doesn't know Drew and I know each other. I can tell shit is about to get real.
The other night when Ava told me she was pregnant with twins had me stunned as shit. Then I got interrupted with a call from Drew. I'm pretty sure she assumed it was my baby mom's calling for Kasey but it wasn't. I'm glad Ava isn't the ask questions type. Right now I'm going to be there for Ava as much as I can and figure this shit out.
Ava went home yesterday evening after dinner and I had some time to think. I decided to head to the office and do some work. I had a new case that opened
I showered and dressed in business attire and grabbed my coffee mug and headed out to work. I texted Ava this morning and told her I would be by later to bring her dinner but I wasn't staying. I had Kasey tonight at my place and I wanted shit to be peaceful. I had to go pick Kasey up from Giselle later and I would have her for a few days.
Anyways I popped on my Hi Five CD and jumped on the expressway to work. It was a 15 minute drive from where I lived and I would be there in no time.
My boss Cedric called me while I was on my way there to tell me I had a consult about another case. I accepted the offer hell after the news I got I needed the extra money.
I just hoped and prayed my mind would be right through all of this it was too much.
I strolled into my office and greeted my co workers. I went over the case files I had and elaborated on it.
"Mr. Thomas your 1:30 consult is here " . My assistant Kim said through the phone speaker.
"Bring them up please. " I replied. I cleared my desk and put the files away for privacy reasons and here walked in my 'consult '. Drew.
I didn't think Drew would be bold enough to come here but he did.
"Mr. Thomas," Drew said sarcastically.
"I have a matter I would like to consult with you." He stated pulling on his suit jacket and taking a seat.
I told Kim she could excuse us and she did so and closed the door. I walked back around to my side of the desk and took a seat.
"How can I help Drew?" I asked returning the sarcasm
"You can help me by throwing out a divorce case with my wife." He snarly said , he was pissed. Ava must have already had him served with papers.
"Now I aint too intelligent with this court shit but what i do know is you helped her file that paper work and i WILL NOT divorce my fucking wife! Do you understand what I am saying to you Mr.Thomas?!" He said through clenched teeth. I leaned back in my chair and crossed my hands over my abdomen and smiled.
"I can see that you are upset Mr.Phillips but sir I can't work with you , because it would be a conflict interest if you know what I mean. Also i am your wifes lawyer as well. I can refer you to a fellow coworker but i cant take your case. You also have already have been served with papers which basically means you have been summoned to court already. I will get you that referral and you can be on your way sir." I stated in the most professional way possible.
Drew started to get a devilish look on his face. His fist balled as well too.
"Look Tre, I don't have time for these foolish ass games you are playing with me. And don't sit there and act like there's nothing going on between us because it is. And I'm pissed about that. Not only are you sleeping with someone else, that someone else is my wife! And you are supposed to be my lover. We talked about this. You leaving Giselle for me. " he said. Oh lord here he goes with this again. Truth be told I am not in love with Drew nor do I want to be with him.
"I told you when we met, I am not leaving Giselle for you and I didn't know that was your wife until after the fact. I didn't know you could score such a beautiful woman like Ava, she's a keeper. " I said and that was the truth.
"Now you know exactly who she is so it's time for you to fall back. " he said.
