As she drove to her parents' house, Zelena was still trying to process the conversation she had with Emma. She wanted both her sister and friend to be happy but after everything that happened between them she couldn't fully commit to the idea of them dating and for what Emma had told her that wasn't even a possibility. She had warned Regina not to hurt Emma again and she goes against it and sleeps with her? And Emma, after everything she should know better than to just act on her emotions without thinking twice about it.
"Regina Mills," Zelena yelled as soon as she entered the house. She went to the kitchen and saw her sister sitting at the table with a spoon of cereals halfway towards her mouth.
"What have I done?"
"You slept with Emma! That's what you've done."
"You slept with Emma?" came a voice behind Zelena, "I didn't even know you liked girls."
"Mother, I... well, I... can we talk about this another time?"
"No Regina, we cannot. We are talking about this now," she said grabbing her sister by her elbow and taking her to her room.
"You could have at least let me finish eating! So what, I slept with Emma, how is that any of your business?" Regina asked annoyed as she sat on the bed.
"With all the people in the world, you could experiment with you had to go to Emma! You really went and risked all the progress you two made."
"It wasn't an experiment! Did I wonder what sex with a girl would be like? Sure. Did I use Emma to find out? No. I actually wanted to know what be with her would be like, I wanted to be with her because I actually like her!" She tells Zelena who stares back at her with a wary look.
"Why didn't you just told her that then? Why did you let her believe all she was to you was an experimentation?"
"She was scratching an old itch! Her words, not mine. A way to get laid was all I was for her, why should I put my heart on the line when I was clearly going to be rejected?" she angrily questioned her sister.
"Regina..." Zelena sighed, "you and I both know that Emma wouldn't do that, not to you. She would never sleep with you if she didn't feel anything towards you. She liked you but just like you, she's scared to be rejected by you. If you truly like her, tell her. Make her believe you because she liked you too," Zelena tells her sister softly making Regina frown her eyebrows.
"She likes me?" she whispered more to herself than anything. Zelena nodded and smiled before leaving the room leaving her sister to her own thoughts.
Regina decided that she could not just go to Emma and bluntly let her know about her feelings, she had to make Emma trust her and make her believe that she wouldn't trade her for someone once again. She was going to woo Emma. Regina texted Emma and invited her and Allison for breakfast and smiled widely when Emma agreed to meet with her the next morning.
She got up way earlier than she needed to, way too nervous to be in bed any longer. When she got to the Diner she sat at the same table she and Emma had occupied the other day and waited. Trying to distract herself from Emma she decided to look through her phone but as soon as she reached for it she heard the sound of small feet approaching her.
"Gina, hi!" Allison said and sat next to Regina while her mother sat opposite to them.
"Hello, you two. How are you?" she asked smiling at Allison before looking at the girl's mother who was smiling right back at the duo.
"We're good. Allison here got super happy when I told her we were meeting you."
"Is that so? Well, I was very eager to be with you two as well. Shall we order?" They ordered their food and after they were done eating they took Allison to school. On the way there Regina started to notice Emma spacing out and acting as if she was trying to hide from someone. She didn't comment on it until she and Emma were alone. She asked Emma if everything was alright, Emma said that she was just tired and quickly changed the topic.
"You cut your nails, are you planning on switching teams?" Emma teases Regina with a smirk making her blush.
"I felt guilty whenever I looked at them, so I simply cut them. It doesn't really have any ulterior motive behind it."
"Such a shame..." Emma whispered making Regina look at her, "I mean, you'd be a pretty hot addition to the lesbian community," she stated as if it was pretty obvious.
"You are such an idiot," Regina said rolling her eyes.
"And you wouldn't want me otherwise," Emma said but soon got distracted by something. Regina looked around trying to find the source of Emma's distraction, however, she saw nothing out of the ordinary.
"No. No, just... I forgot I had to do something. I need to go, okay?" Emma said already moving to her car.
"Oh, sure... Can we meet again? Maybe go out for dinner or something?"
"Yeah, dinner sounds amazing. I'll text you whenever I have free time, I really need to go," Emma said brushing off Regina who stood there with a confused look on her face trying to understand what had happened to make Emma's mood change so quickly.
