"You kissed my mom?" Allison asked when Regina finished telling her the story.
"I... I did but... It was only that one time," Regina answered her nervously, "you knew your mom likes girls right?"
"Yeah, she told me a long time ago. Did you like it?" she asked raising her eyebrow.
"I... what?"
"Did you like kissing my mom?" Allison clarified.
"Well... uh, your... your mom was a good kisser and-"
"Gina, I don't need to know details forget I asked. I know you've told me everything but I still can't understand," Allison said standing up, "you and my mom were best friends, you loved each other! You don't treat someone you love like that."
"You're right. You don't, and I shouldn't have. I... I was being selfish, I was scared of being judged and when I told Danielle that your mom liked girls she said that-"
"Wait. You told her? My mom trusted you with her secret... with her secrets and you just went around telling people about them? Did you also told her she talks with the dead?" Allison said and Regina could tell she was getting mad.
"Allison, I... I know it wasn't my place to but-"
"No. How could you?" Allison asked frowning and Regina could see tears forming in her eyes. Before she had the chance to say something to Allison, the girl sprinted out of the room. Regina stood in the room without knowing what to do. If she went downstairs she would for sure get yelled at by her sister, however, she could handle her sister just fine. What she was scared of was to look at Allison because at that moment the only thing she could see was her mother, the child was without a doubt a carbon copy of the blonde when she was her age, much more frisky but physically she was all her mother.
When she finally made her way down the stairs, neither Allison nor Zelena were there. She went to the kitchen looking for them but the only people there were her parents.
"Hi, Daddy, Mom," Regina said entering the kitchen and sitting next to her father, "has either of you seen Allison?"
"She left with Zelena," her mother told her while chopping vegetables.
"Oh. Where?"
"She came downstairs and told us she wanted to spend the weekend with her mother, after all, so Zelena grabbed her things and took her to Emma. She should be back soon, though, she left a while ago already," Henry told her.
"Did she say why?"
"No, Regina. But she did say that she wanted to speak to you when she arrived, she seemed serious. Care to explain?" Cora asked and Regina sighed. She knew she couldn't get away from her mother. If her mother wanted to know something she would know it and that was final.
"She wanted to know what happened between me and Emma," she said looking anywhere but at her parents.
"You know, we never really understood that story ourselves," Cora said referring to her and Henry, "I think it's time we do, don't you think, dear?" she questioned her husband who agreed with her.
"Are you really going to make me say it all again?" she whined.
"Regina Mills, I am tired of being in the dark, out with it," Cora reprimanded her younger daughter who finally started to tell her everything. When she finally finished her parents looked at her with both sadness and disappointment in their face, she knew she had screwed up, she didn't need everyone reminding her of that, "I raised you better than that, Regina. I knew that Danielle girl was not a good influence on you," Cora said shaking her head. As much as Regina wanted to defend her friend she didn't. She knew her mother well enough to know that it wouldn't be that easy.
"Mom, I really don't need you to tell me what I did wrong because I know. I wish I could take it back but I can't. I need you to tell me what to do," Regina told her mother and at that moment Cora only saw her 13 years old daughter who wanted her friend back but didn't know what to do.
"Honey, I don't know... I really don't. You need to speak to Emma, apologize to her."
"Daddy?"
"Sweetheart, talk to Emma," he said putting his arm around Regina and pulling her into a hug, "everything will work out in the end," he finished. Cora and Henry looked at each other and they felt for her daughter, yes she made a mistake but in the end, she was their daughter.
"I'll go," Cora said when they heard the doorbell, "your sister probably forgot her keys."
"You think I can make things right with Emma?" Regina asked her father.
"I don't know. But if you really want to don't give up. Remember that communication will take you everywhere," he said pressing a kiss to her temple.
"Regina, it's for you," Cora shouted from the door. Regina frowned, she wasn't expecting anyone but went to see who it was anyway. On her way to the doorway, her mother was going back to the kitchen and gave her a reassuring smile. When she saw who was waiting for her, her eyes went wide.
"Emma," Regina breathed out.
"Hi. We need to talk," Emma said and Regina nodded motioning her to her father's office. Once inside they just stared at each other for what it seemed like forever until Emma finally broke the silence, "what happened with Allison? She didn't tell me anything but Zelena said she stayed like this after talking to you."
"She asked about us. Well, more about why I did what I did. She wanted to hear my side of the story," Regina told Emma.
"And what did you tell her?" Emma questioned her former best friend.
"The truth. She didn't understand though, so she asked me how I could have done what I did and for her, or for anyone really, understand I tried to tell her about Danielle."
"What about her?"
"I don't know how to tell you," Regina said to Emma while sitting on the couch.
"You certainly didn't have a problem eleven years ago when you told me I wasn't good enough for you," Emma told Regina harshly before she could stop herself. Regina looked at Emma taken aback by that, "look just tell me. It can't be worse of what I am imagining because honestly, I can't think of anything you might have said to Allison that left her like that."
"Uh... So you know how I started to hang out with Danielle all the time, obviously. She and I started to get close and we started to talk a lot and one day... it just split Emma, I didn't mean to tell her..."
"What did you tell her?" Emma asked calmly and Regina was actually surprised by the blonde's temper.
"I told her you saw ghosts..." Regina whispered and Emma almost missed it. When after awhile Emma still remained quite, Regina looked up at her. Her expression was unreadable, she was just waiting for Regina to continue, "she told me how stupid that was, how could it happen right? How could someone talk to someone who was dead... And I just let myself believe her. I'm sorry, Emma I-"
"What else?" Emma asked with a harsher tone. Upon seeing Regina's confused face she clarified, "That's not all, is it? What else did you tell her?"
"There... There was this one time when we were hanging out, and you wouldn't stop texting me, she said that you looked like a controlling girlfriend and I told her that I wasn't into girls," Regina said looking down.
"That's how people found out?" Emma questioned and Regina nodded, "and that's why Allison got upset? Because you told my secret?" Regina nodded again.
"I am so sorry, Emma. If I could take it back I swear I would. If I could do it all over again, I would do things so differently, I-"
"Look, I am not here to make up with you and hear your sorries," Emma said cutting Regina off her speech, "and you know what? I don't even care about your apologies, not anymore. You're not just hurting me now, you are hurting my daughter as well, and for that, I will never forgive you," Emma finished and walked out of the office leaving Regina behind with tears in her eyes.
