Chapter 18:

Annie

After the darkness took over me that afternoon, I realized that Hayden had cared about me.  He didn't get to sleep very well that night because he fell asleep, leaning on the wall, sitting uncomfortably, thinking about what he did that made me run away.  That's based on what he told me.

I never thought of Hayden caring about me much, we only had contacts for three weeks.  After all of those years of having a crush on Hayden, these days are lucky for me to be that girl he cared, touched, talked, texted, and the girl he kissed...

It was a breathtaking moment to know the guy I liked for years had kissed me that time.  Living like one of those fairy tales.  Like those romantic novels that I've read these past years I had.

But don't you think it was too soon that he kissed me that time?  I mean he just met me three weeks ago, or finally noticed me.

It was the second day to stay at his home with his family.  Isn't funny how he liked me that fast?

Wait.  What am I even thinking?  He doesn't like me.  It was already obvious when he hugged Kenzie a night ago.  He was happy to see her.

For goodness sake!  He just kissed me like how he kissed other girls in his school.  Maybe i'm just one of those girls that he had to kiss for no reason.

How stupid of me to think about him liking me.

"Earth to Annie" a finger snap from Dylan brought me back to reality.  "Aren't you going to choose from Strawberry Milkshake or Oreo Milkshake?" Dylan asked me, crossing his hands to his chest.

I gave him a playful glare before I spoke "I was just thinking about something.  Can't you give me time?" I said, giving him a playful roll on the eye.  "Are there anyways to choose both of them?" The two sounds so good after all.

I licked my top lip.  I can't believe that they're making me choose from both of my favorite's.

"Are you kidding that you could drink the two of them?  We're getting the large which is a lot"

"Fine, i'll get the Oreo Milkshake" I said, putting my hands up in the air.  I can't believe I just betrayed Strawberry Milkshake...

"Finally" Hunter mumbled.

"Hayden?" Dylan asked, making a few strands of his hair flip as he turned around to face him.

"I'll get the same thing as Annie's" Hayden said, giving me a wink when Dylan looked away to order from the mini van, filled with different types of milkshakes.

I rolled my eyes when he winked and sat down to a near bench at the side road.  Unsurprisingly Hayden sat next to me,  "What we're you thinking?" Hayden asked me.

Staring at him for a moment I replied, "Things" casually.  He just rolled his eyes at me, doubting I told him the right thing.  "You don't believe me?" I asked him.

"No, no, I believe you.  It just looked like you we're.  Thinking deeply about something that had to deal about me" He shrugged his shoulders and stared up in the sky.  It's true about what he said but I'm not going to admit that I've been thinking about him lately.
