Chapter 33 - Be Cautious

It has been 2 months since David's and I's engagement. I would tell you it was all blissful, but I cant. I have been getting weird feelings.

My father has been sending me creepy looks every since our engagement that sends shivers down my spine. It's eery and scary. I can't exactly describe it.

One great thing that did happen is that David and I finished training. We finally learned how to work our powers, so we will soon be able to become King and Queen. Probably a little after his birthday. Which is December 12th.

David decided to switch college to the computer like me. So, we have been spending more time together. I also have been thinking about getting a job. There is Starbucks that is hiring so I have been thinking about looking into it.

What am I doing at this moment? I am currently watching 'Switched at Birth' and cuddling with my pillows and covers while munching on some very buttery popcorn.

Byron currently moved out a few days ago so I have been depressed for these few days. I have been sitting in fuzzy pajamas and stuffing my face with popcorn and watching television. David had been helping Byron move in.

Traitor. I hiss in my mind.

As I was arm-deep in popcorn, my ringtone goes off indicating that someone was calling my cellphone. I grumble 'probably that traitor of a fiancé' under my breathe and ignore it. I kept trying to ignore it, but on the fourth call I got annoyed because I was not able to hear my show with this obsessive amount of ringing.

"What?" I screech in annoyance.

"Baby, now is not the time to be angry with me This is serious! Something has went horribly wrong. Byron-" I cut him off right there as I jumped up hearing my brother's name. I dashed in my vampire speed to the front door.

"What's going on with Byron?" I ask nervously with a shaky voice on the verge of tears.

"Hurry up Brianna. Byron made a mistake-" I cut him off. I can find out when I get there.

"Address! I need his address again David!" I screech in the phone.

"1145 Millistone Road. Floor 18. Apartment 978." he rushes. Curse my brother for being on the top floor for the view.

Nonetheless, I begin in my vampire speed as soon as I hear the address and hang up.

I didn't even have time for my thoughts. I ignored my thoughts because I knew it would only assume vicious things about what's going on with my brother. I just enjoyed the breeze as I ran as fast as I could. Humans wouldn't even be able to see me go past.

As soon as I make it there, I go to the elevator so that I won't bump into a human. I smell out Byron and quickly head in his direction when the elevator door opens.

I don't even bother knocking and use my ability to get there. As soon as I get in, David is sitting there waiting for me and Byron is nowhere in sight, but I know he's here because I smell him. I also smell blood and smell. I peek into Byron's emotions and he feels guilt, regret, and sorrow. What the hell happened?

"What happened David?" I ask nervously. Now that I realize it, Amber smells different. I crinkle my nose and breathe in a deep breath to smell her once again. "Why does Amber smell like... that... and sweat and blood?" I ask David.

Amber and I have gotten completely close. She knows everything going on with me and I know everything going on with her. She is so mature but still has the qualities I loved about her before still.

Last week I found out that Amber was pregnant with Byron's baby. I was disappointed in them before, but I soon got over it for them. They seemed happy with how fast their relationship was going. They plan on getting married soon. Before the baby is born. They don't want their baby being born a 'bastard'.
