|Everything was all fun and games when we were kids, such carefree times. But now, the pressure is on. There's no room for quirkless kids.
"Kan-chan, c'mon otherwise we'll be late!" Called the green haired boy, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Hurry!" He urged once more. "Right, sorry," I mumbled, catching up to him.
"Woah, look at this huge villain," we both looked up at the upcoming figure. Both watching in awe as pro heroes came on to the scene, a dopey grin hinging itself on Deku's face. "Fanboy," I teased, rolling my eyes in the process.
Deku began to mumble his usual mumble, examining the new heroes that came to the scene. I merely watched on, however easily captivated by the heroes as they stood posing for pictures. But before I knew it, Deku and I had begun walking away.

"Deku, are you still going to be trying for UA?" I whispered, my eyes fixated on Kacchan. Kacchan, ultimately my biggest rival academically and Deku's rival overall.
What is it that bothers Kacchan so much? He was so much nicer when we were kids...
"Mmhh, I want to accomplish my dream of becoming a pro hero," he confessed, although his tone slightly lower and less confident than usual. Flashing a small smile, I nodded filling out my application as well. "Lets hope to enter together," he encouraged before a sudden thud caught both our attention.
"Tch, do you honestly think you're going to get it? Quirkless scum," and all too familiar voice spoke. Before either Deku or I could react, Deku's desk was destroyed, pieces flying everywhere. "How can you get into the hero course when you're a quirkless wannabe!?" Kacchan shouted, Deku was on the floor terrified. "Well, actually, they got rid of that rule, I could be the first..." he was cut off.
"Leave him alone, Kacchan," I bit the inside of my cheek as I stood up and out of my seat. "What? The princess is here to defend you?" He mocked. "That's enough, Kacchan," my voice became louder. He only turned before grabbing Deku's journal and toasting it in hand. "Jerk!" I yelled out as he left, "are you alright?" I asked.
"Yeah, I just wish..."
"I know,"
We both walked down stairs and to the courtyard finding his journal submerged in the school pond. "I should've tried to catch it before it fell," i said as Deku picked it up off the water. "It's okay, would you mind taking out the water?" He asked, giving a small nod I waved my hand over the side pulling away each droplet and back into the pond.
"At least your quirk is handy," Deku laughed but it was sad. It wasn't a forced or strained laugh; it was just sad. "Let's go home, yeah?" I smiled at him, and with a nod we were off.
"Hey, Deku?" I called as we walked home. "Yeah, what is it Kan-chan?" He replied, his eyes still looking over burned parts of his journal. "Can I come over? My parents are coming home...tonight," I said, my voice slowly getting quieter. "Yeah, I don't see why not. My mom has been wanting to see you," he smiled. "Thank you," I mumbled.
