Todoroki

"Ever sense I met you at the recommendation exam...not once have I seen you use your left side, until today that is." She spoke, the only sound following being the soft crunch of the biscuits she'd been eating. "What's your point?" I growled at her, my fist balling. She turned towards me, her face completely serious; a change from her usual smile and light-hearted demeanor.

"I'm not holding back. Are you going to be able to beat me with only half your power?" She questioned, her brown eyes intensifying. I didn't respond, just scrunched my face ever so slightly. "You've probably been training since you were little but so have I. Take this however you want, as a threat or a whatever you want but..." she paused as if she were choosing her words carefully, "I'd break that habit of yours...soon."

My mind felt clouded, did she know about the promise? Had Midoriya told her? I stopped at the exit to the arena, my father blocking me. "What? What do you want?" I glared, "you're acting disgracefully. If you had simply used your left side, you would've placed first in the previous rounds."

"It's time to give up this childish rebellion. You need to surpass all might," he said, his flames flaring up at the thought. I scoffed, "I don't need your power to win. Just watch," I pushed passed him, my blood beginning to boil as I walked inside the bounds. I looked at Kana, "Todoroki?" I didn't respond, "okay...I won't be holding back, so I don't expect you to either." Her expression changed, more serious and yet her eyes seeming uncaring.

"Begin!"

From the corner of my eye, I caught a glimpse of my fathers flames again. Without thought, I began to freeze the ground, feeling the frost bite beginning to form on my skin. A glacier of ice taking up half the stadium erupting from the ground, I heard the sound of running. "That wasn't enough!" I was jerked back, falling onto my back as Kana stood above me. "Half your power is not going to be enough to win against me," she huffed, I started forming more ice and pushing her off with it; her outstretched hand swatted at the ice, in a fluid motion turning it into water and holding it as she returned my own attack in liquid form. I snapped my hand, shielding myself with a sheet of ice, the frost on my skin growing.

I heard her growl slightly, the sound of my ice wall breaking as she punched through it. "Face it! You can't win," Blue flames beginning to erupt with each punch she threw, "what the..." i was caught completely off guard at the sudden offensive tactics. "What's this!? It seems like Takahashi Kana has managed to turn the tables in this fight! As expected from two recommendation students!" She stood in a fighting stance, catching her breath, "I told you I wasn't going to hold back." Her face intensified as I threw my arm forward, shoving ice in her direction; she diverted my attacks running in a zigzag movement until she reached me. I stumbled back as she grabbed on to my right arm, hooking her leg behind my own and slamming my body towards the ground, I felt my right side begin to heat up as she formed an earth cone around my body.

No...I refuse...

I growled as I began to form another glacier, breaking myself free, it must've caught her off guard because she nearly got hit. Her fist balled as she started running towards me, sending more fire fueled punches and kicks. "I refuse to give him what he wants!" I yelled, sending more ice this time faster than before. She continued to dodge, "it's got nothing to do with what he wants," she swept her feet beneath mine causing me to stumble back, before she could get up I sent her flying with a forceful ice block. "What a fight!!! It seems like Todoroki is gaining the upper hand!" The crowd began to cheer, Kana stood up her hair covering her face as she leaned on the wall she had created. Her body was trembling as she swept her hair back, running towards me once again.

She projected herself up, gaining a higher advantage but before she could attack I froze her, the glacier even bigger than the first I had created. Small droplets of red liquid began to fall on the ground, blood? Did I hurt her!?midnight approached her, "she's completely out." My chest heaved in slight exhaustion, "Todoroki wins!" I shakily made my way over to the glacial prison, extending my hand to melt the ice. Her limp body fell forward hitting my chest, she slumped a little before I began to pull her up. Wrapping my arm around her I pulled her into my back, hoisting her up one last time, "its okay you don't need to take her.." Midnight said stepping forward. I glanced up at my father, his expression darker as he followed my every move; I sent a glare his way before turning back towards midnight.

"It's fine, I'll take her," I glanced at Kana, her bruised cheek facing me. Her nose had stopped bleeding and her breathing was calmed, a complete change of pace from what we had experienced. Still...I won, I thought, out of luck though, had that last shot not worked she probably would have. I glanced at her one last time before I stepped into recovery girls office.
