The Girl That Blocks Me

Normal;

My hypothesis was correct. None of my powers worked when she held my hand. What was this girl made of.

Saiki's POV;

I can't say anything. Nothing telepathically.

"Kusuo?"

I jumped. Of course I did. I can't read her mind. None of my powers seem to work on her. In fact, she cancels them out. What do I do? I barely speak out loud but I can't let her think I'm some jerk.

"... Hey..."

"Whoa. Heh you spoke. It's about time." She giggled. I was lost for words. She was still holding my hand so all I could do was stare at her. To be honest she is kinda... cute.

"... S-sorry...."

"What for? It's natural to be nervous around new people. To be completely honest, I was shaking so bad when I first arrived."

She's nice. I've only ever spoke out loud a few times, so needless to say I'm not used to it. I still don't understand how she can block out all of my powers with one touch. Could she be a psychic too? Oh great I'm staring again.

"I-im....i-"

Oh this is ridiculous. I'm trying to say "I'm not nervous." But my terrible speaking skills seems to prove otherwise.

"Hey let's get you looked at. Let's get you down to the nurse's office."

Not wanting to say anything else, I just nodded. She let go of my hand and I felt the flood of my powers come back. With a slight difference, they felt weak.

Normal;

If you've ever read my manga or watched my anime you know my powers are not weak at all. That's the whole reason I wear these antennas. Yet, for some reason when this girl is next to me my powers seem to be back to when I was like, 5. Anyone remember that germanium ring I keep around? It blocks my telepathy? Well she's like that times 10, or even 100. Either way just being by this girl makes my powers dwindle away and when we touch, they're gone.

So we really did go see the nurse, who basically turned around and said I was fine, which I was. But not even checking on the student? That's just irresponsible. Whatever, I wanted to know why nothing worked on this girl. Out of respect I'll stop referring to her as the girl. Her names Juliet after all. Or have you all forgotten? Let's pick back up after school, I had just overheard that there was a new diner that sold amazing coffee jelly. Of course I had to be the judge.

Saiki's POV;

Where is this place? If it wasn't for the coffee jelly I probably wouldn't care on finding it. Oh, right here.

"Welcome sir!"

I know that voice.

"Huh? Oh Kusuo it's you! How are you feeling? That nurse didn't seem nice...I would have let you rest at least."

Juliet. Does she work here? She's a new student, new to the town, how did she get a job so fast?

"Juliet! Can you take these to table 3?" I heard a woman call from the back.

"Sure mom! Just sit anywhere, I'll be right back." She said as she rushed off. So her mom works here too? That's a little weird, unless they own the diner. That's the only explanation. I'll sit down in a booth and wait. Not to look so disinterested I'll picked up the menu and look over it. Holy crap, they have five different versions of coffee jelly? Is this place heaven? Here she comes.

"Sorry about that. So what can I get for you?"

My telepathy doesn't work. So I'll I guess pointing is my next best thing.

"Coffee jelly. Mm my favorite. If you're a fan you'll be addicted to this one. Anything else?"

Is the coffee jelly that good? I'll be the judge of that.

"N-no....thank you..." Crap. I need to get a hang of that.

"Just the jelly. Ok coming up."

She walked away and I watched. Yes I know, doesn't seem my style but it's something about her. Her obvious power to block mine but it was something else too. She's the only person I've felt any interest in. It felt.... refreshing. Enough of that. She came back with the jelly. It was beautiful.

Saiki's POV:

"Here you go. Coffee jelly. I personally make it."

She makes it? Jeez ok let's try it then. It can't be as good as she says-oh my god it's amazing.

"Do you like it? I've worked hard on the recipes."

"I guess from that look on your face you really do like it. I told you you'd get addicted."

I feel like I'm in heaven. She blocks my powers and makes an incredible coffee jelly? Juliet Monteque you're something else.

"Do.....does your.... family own....this diner?" Hey I'm getting better at speaking.

"Of course. We have another one few towns away that my aunt runs. We decided that it became so popular we had to expand."

She seems so innocent. So nice. It bothers me that I can't tell what she's thinking about. She makes me smile and I've only known her a day.

Normal;

I know what you're thinking. You're all thinking I had a crush on her. I didn't, not at that present time. I thought she was kind and like I said it was refreshing. Ok maybe I was starting to develop a crush. Shut up. Anyway, that's when things started changing. Teruhashi walked in.

"I should bless this new diner with my presence cause I'm the perfect pretty girl. Everyone inside will love it. They should be honored"

I could hear her coming but what else is new.

"Welcome. You can take a seat anywhere. I'll be right with you."

"Oh no rush. Wait, oh you're Monteque! The new student!"

"Oh? Do I know you?"

"What!? How can she not remember me!? I know my perfect looks don't work on many women but you'd think she'd remember." Teruhashi thought. Wow. "I'm Teruhashi, we're classmates."

"Oh it's so nice to meet you. Sorry I'm bad with faces. I'm gonna go get these to their tables and I'll be back. Like I said sit anywhere."

Well it's no plan I'd do but she still got away. Oh wait. That means she left Teruhashi with-
