Defuse

Escalus's POV;

It was now 1 pm. Yuuta was still writing away in his notebook. I was starting to doze off.

"...Agh..."

"Mister.." 

"Huh...Yeah?" I turned my attention to the young boy next to me. He closed his book and pouted.

"I'm hungry...We should go as Cyborg Cider Man # 2 and Poetry Girl if we can eat!"

"Yea that's a good idea. Do you know what room is Ku- uhm....Cyborg Cider...yeah...his room?"

"Yeah! Come on." The little boy got up and ran off. I followed after him. He ran up the stairs and to a door.

"This one?"

"Yeah!"

I knocked on the door. No answer. I turned the handle and opened the door a tiny bit to peer in. The script was laying on the floor, but i couldn't see my sister or Kusuo. I opened the door all the way and looked around it. Sitting on the bed, making out, was my sister and her boyfriend. I pushed Yuuta away from the door.

"Excuse me." I said in a pissed but also calm voice. Kusuo jolted back and hit his head on the wall. Juliet fell off the bed.

" Aghh..." Kusuo rubbed the spot he hit. I walked in and helped Juliet to her feet. She could tell i wasn't happy. I tried to keep myself calm.

"..Are...you alright." 

"I'm fine. Who said you could just barge in." Juliet asked. I picked up the script and handed it to her.

"I knocked and neither of you answered. I apologize but Yuuta is hungry. It's not my house so i don't know what to get him."

"Let's just go out..." Kusuo said, getting off his bed. Yuuta ran in, holding his journal.

"Poetry Girl! I wrote a poem!"

"Oh did you? Can i read it?"

"Yeah!" The happy little boy handed his journal over to my sister. She smiled.

"Cyborg Cider Man # 2 is the best hero ever. When he's around, everything is better. I like when he watches me and we hang out. He's the best hero ever! No doubt! Oh, Yuuta it's beautiful."

"Ever and Better don't even rhyme..." Kusuo said. Juliet gave him a kind smile.

"Kusu it's his first poem, i think he did lovely. I'm so proud."

"Thanks!"

"You know what, how about i treat us all to pizza. Would you like that Yuuta?"

"Yeah!"

"Then lets go!"

Saiki's POV;

We all headed out of my house and down the street. Yuuta was in front of me, walking and holding Juliet's hand. I guess he can be good. Escalus was behind me. I could feel his eyes practically burning a hole in my head.  He was beyond pissed, and I can't really blame him. I picked up the pace and caught up to Juliet's.

"Juliet..." I whispered.

"Yes Kusu?"

"I think your brother likes me even less now..."

"Well he'll just have to deal with it.....teens will act like teens...." She said. I don't know when she became so confident, but i kind of like it.

We got to the pizza place and i held the door open for the other three. Escalus gave me another death glare. They were starting to get annoying. Maybe it was time i finally talked it out. I knew that if this kept going on, Juliet and I would never be left alone. In fact, I wouldn't hold it past him to try and convince everyone that Juliet was in danger. Is Escalus a bad guy? No. Is he anything like Teruhashi's insane brother? NO! Is he an over protective brother? Yes. Given Juliet's past, I can't blame him either. He's trying to do what's right, and catching her and I in my room destroyed that little trust he had given us. He doesn't know that Juliet already found out the truth. Maybe he should. That would make things easier.

"Escalus can I talk to you outside?" I asked as Juliet and Yuuta sat down at a table. He stared at me for a second and motioned to the door.

"After you."

"Hold on, don't you dare start a fight." Juliet said, standing.

"No, Juliet I just want a private conversation....It's alright." I reassured. 

"Kusu..."

I headed out the door with Escalus behind me. We stepped out of the window's line of sight and away from other costumers. I turned to him as he crossed his arms, displeased.

" What do you want..."

"You need to know the truth." I started. He glared at me, making me step back and lean against the outside of the small restaurant. I wasn't scared of him, i could easily get rid of him, but that was the issue. Even though my powers were full blast, I know hurting him would hurt Juliet. 

"What truth...?" The dark haired man hissed. I wasn't getting on his good side anytime soon.

"About Juliet, She-"

I was silenced by the sound of Escalus's hand smacking the wall next to my head. I tried to keep myself calm but from the corner of my eye i saw pebbles beginning to float do to my growing nervousness. I know he wasn't going to hurt me. I was reading his mind the entire time.

"What did he do to Juliet? Did he hurt her? Is he dangerous? If he is I swear!"

My voice was caught in my throat. Luckily my telepathy works on this Monteque.

"She knows the truth!" I yelled, or, more so did telepathically.

"What truth?!"

"About her past! About the doctor! About why you all came to Japan..."

"Sh...she....how...how did she find out..."

"....You may not believe me.." I started. I heard his hand clench into a fist on the wall. He looked down at he ground.

"Explain..."

"I have a....well let's just say, a friend that's a medium...and he channeled Juliet's guardian spirit...she told her everything...even on how after all the terrible things that happened, your family was who had to pay....I know that's why you're so over protective..." 

"...I vowed i'd never let anything happen to her....That's why i went to join the military....I wanted to get stronger....What happened was sick and i don't want her to ever go through that again...."

"I know...Escalus i would never hurt her..." I said, finally speaking physically again. 

"How can i trust you...I still know you're hiding something from me..."

"......I'll come clean....I promise...but I can't right now....you and Juliet stay after Yuuta goes home....we'll tell you everything..."

"What are you talking about?" He looked at me confused. I pushed up my glases and stood up straight.

" It's better if we show you."

"......Fine..." Escalus lowered his arm and shoved his hands into his jean pockets. We headed back into the building to see Juliet ordered a large, plain pizza. Yuuta was happily stuffing his face. Juliet was relived to see that both of us were damage free.

"What did you guys talk about out there?"

"The truth." Both Escalus and I said.
