Normal;

"Kusuo Saiki? He asked someone out?" yes I did. I'm happy I did. She's beautiful, smart, funny, talented. She really understands the struggle I have with my powers. She's perfect. Inside and out.

NOT IN A PERVERTED WAY. Get your minds out of the gutter.

Anyway, right after I asked her out, we talked for a while and then she went home. Yes, I asked her not to tell her parents. She never did, and the next day I went to her house to  get her for school.

Saiki's POV:

I knocked on her front door. I could hear the shuffling of feet on the other side.

"Good morning!" A cheery middle aged woman opened the door. "Oh Kusuo! Come in!"

"Good morning Mrs. Monteque. Thank you."  I bowed before walking in. "I just came here to pick Juliet up for school."

"Oh that sweetheart of mine, she's upstairs finishing getting ready. I can get you something to eat. Are you hungry? I can get you a pop-tart or..."

"I'm alright. Thank you."

"Sorry Kusuo, where you waiting long?" Juliet asked as she came skipping down the stairs. The closer she got the weaker I got. I didn't care.

"I wasn't waiting long, you're  perfectly fine." I answered. "Is this your school bag?"

"Yeah."

"I got it." I picked up her bag and put it over my shoulder with mine.

"Oh, Kusuo I can carry it."

"It's alright, I got it. Let's go."

"Heh...very well, bye mom! Bye dad!"

"Have a good day Princess!" Her mom said. Her dad came walking out of the backroom.

"No daughter of mine is leaving before a hug."

"Aww Daddy." Juliet ran back and hugged her father. She then kissed her mom goodbye and walked passed me out the door. I waved goodbye and closed the door on my way out.

"Your parents are amazing."

"Thanks. Yours are pretty cool too." Juliet said. I gave a slight smile.

"I guess. They use to argue a lot but inside I heard their true thoughts. Their...puppy love...sometimes lewd...ugh." I cringed at the thoughts. Juliet giggled at my face. "She's so cute." I thought.

"Hey Kusuo?"

"Yes?"

"What you said last night, where you being serious?"

"I proved them to you-"

"No! Not that. I mean, you asking me out...do you really wanna go out?" Juliet slowed down before completely stopping. "I mean if you don't its alright. I wont tell anyone. You don't have to date me to buy my silence."

"I'm not trying to buy anything. I sincerely want to go out with you. It's weird for me to say this, but I really want to get to know you. I want to get close. I know I can trust you." I said as I looked at her. A smile crossed her face.

"That's...really sweet."

We got to school just in time to switch our shoes and get to homeroom. I sat her backpack down at her desk.

"There we go."

"I could have carried it myself."

"Don't worry, I didn't mind." I said sitting down. I smiled, feeling happy for once.

"Hi Saiki." and just like that the happiness was pulled away. Teruhashi stood in front of me giving off her perfect girl routine. I couldn't read what she was thinking but I knew it was about me. She brushed her hair back and smile. "I was planning on going to karaoke tonight after class. Do you wanna go?"

"...No."

"Oh good I'll meet you by the-" her face went from a smile to a confused look. "Y-you said...no? To me? No?"

"That's right. No." I showed no emotion and stared blankly into her eyes. She smiled again and giggled.

"Aww Saiki, playing hard to get. I'll see you after class." Teruhashi spun around and swayed as she walked to her desk. I turned my head and looked at Juliet. She had her eyes on me.

"She doesn't get it huh?" She whispered.

"You think?" I looked down and pulled a book out of my bag. Juliet scooted closer.

"...What is she really like? Inside?" Juliet whispered. I tried not to blush because she was so close. Her soft voice was inches from my ear. I could feel my glasses beginning to fog.

"S-she." I cleared my throat and lowered my voice. " She thinks she's so perfect and better than everyone else. She's actually very rude...and she also is head over heels for me cause I'm the only boy that isn't affected by her "Perfect pretty girl" scam she so loves."

"I don't think she likes me so much."

"She doesn't. I think you rival her."

"why's that?" Juliet asked. I faced her and smiled.

"You're beautiful inside and out. I don't need to...you know...to tell."

"You're so sweet Kusuo."

"I love it when you say my name. Wait what the hell am I thinking? Stop It!"  I thought. Juliet smiled and scooted back to her spot.  I took off my glasses to rub my eyes, careful not to look at anyone till they were back on. I had to get my feelings under control, but oddly enough, emotions are more difficult to manage than supernatural powers.

Normal:

Juliet, saying her name or even reading it gives me butterflies. She's incredible. Juliet Monteque. I'm rambling. Quit gushing over her. See? I can't help it. I lost my train of thought again. What was I saying?

Saiki's POV:

The bell rang for lunch, so I reached down into my bag to grab mine. It wasn't there. I had stupidly forgot it at home, how cliché.

"Guess I'll have to go somewhere to make a port"

"Kusuo."

"Yeah?"

"Here." Juliet scooted her desk against mine and places her lunch box down. "My mom always packs me too much. Now we can share." I felt my face growing red again.

"..Are you sure? I don't wanna take your food." I said, trying to keep my voice from cracking. How pathetic I am.

"Oh I don't mind. Besides, this is like a pre-date. If we can get along through this we can skip the awkward first and skip to the fun second." She broke open her chopsticks and picked up a piece of chicken. "Here you can have the first bite. Don't worry, my mom is an amazing cook after all."

She wasn't lying.
