Saiki's POV;
"I can't read your mind remember. I can't use any of my powers when I'm with you."
"You obviously did something." Juliet wrapped her arms around her torso. I ran my hand through my hair, confused.
"I....I don't know...."
"....Kiss me again."
"W-what?"
"You heard me, kiss me again. We need to see if this works or not." Juliet closed her eyes. "Kiss me...."
".... alright..." I lifted Juliet's chin and kissed her again. This time she was tense.
"Can you hear me?"
"Yes."
"So you can read my mind when we...kiss...?" Juliet thought.
"Yes." I pulled back and breathed. She opened her eyes.
"Wow....that's so....cool!"
"Really?" I fixed my glasses. She smiled and hugged me.
"Yeah. Now we can share thoughts."
"Y-you....seem really calm.... about this..." I wrapped my arms around her. She was so warm and inviting. I felt all my worries fade.
"I told you before.... Things like this are interesting to me. If this allows me to help you in any way, then that makes things even better."
"You're always so optimistic."
"You wouldn't believe how many times I've heard that...." She looked at me. Staring straight through my glasses. I felt her hand reach up to them. "Hey...I wanna see your eyes beh-"
"No....."
"Kusu...."
"You see I don't wear these glasses because I have trouble seeing.... I wear these glasses because I need something in front of my eyes to stop me from turning people to stone..." I breathed. "You obviously know of Medusa.....I have that ability."
"Ok...but Kusu.... None of your powers work on me... And as we just found out the only time you can ever read my mind is when...well we kiss.... please...." She reached up to my glasses again. "Trust me. I'll be fine..."
I didn't say anything. I closed my eyes as she slowly pulled my glasses off. I heard the plastic arms fold in as she closed them. She must have put my glasses down cause I felt both her hands resting on my cheeks.
"Open your eyes...."
"...but what if..."
"Please, trust me." She said. I paused before slowly opening my eyes. I wasn't used to seeing everything, at least not anything living, without it being tinted green. I stiffened when Juliet stared into my eyes. I was terrified that she may turn to stone. "They're pretty."
"....huh"
"Your eyes... they're like a magenta...."
I gently placed my hands on her cheeks. They were warm from her blush. She smiled.
"What is it?"
"I've never....looked at anyone without something on front of my eyes.... except there was a incident where I accidentally turned Nendo to stone...I guess I got use to the green in my glasses. It became normal to see everyone greenish."
"And...?"
"And now...I can finally look someone in the eyes without that fear..." I gave her another quick kiss. "Thank you...."
